FWIW: Rio still very cheap with LVA

Sun-Thurs, five nights at the end of August, total with tax, $96. All sorts of possible upcharges, but you don't have to bite.

They apparently don't even ask to see your LVA coupon--your checkin is at an automated kiosk anyway. I can attest that the older tower rooms are kind of worn out and the newer ones are nicer and closer to the casino. But still--if you want to visit Vegas during Inferno Month (August), this will save you a good chunk of change. Plan on eating elsewhere, as the food is insanely expensive. My guess is that's what they're hoping, since it's kind of hard to get out of there and go somewhere else--you'll shrug and say, well, we saved on the room. But I'm damned if I'm going to pay $42 for a bowl of noodles.

The gambling is semi-decent, with the usual high-mininun shitjack and 9/6 JOB VP. Not a bad home base. Free parking.

Great report, thank you.

The Rio is a great deal for the summer.

I'll be in LV next Wednesday to use my birthday promos.  Because the Palms and Rio are close, I'll stop into the Rio just to see how things are.  The price of the remodeled room is still reasonable using the LVA coupon.  Take care.

Where can I find this coupon?  I'm a monthly member and don't see it.  I'm booked for four nights during the first week of October, for the resort fee only, so it's around $56/night.  This looks like a much better deal (less than $20/night with the coupon).

The coupon is in the LVA 2025 book. However, you may not need to show the coupon, as checkin is automated. Book online and look for the PROMO CODE box. Click it and enter "LVA25." Then scroll down and pick your room. The price I was quoted is for the 1 King Bed suite. Other options are more, but I can't imagine needing a bigger room than that.

Really hope Rio renews this coupon for 2026. Would love to stay there in February if only because it's close to Palms

Should Caesar's room comp run out.I will try Rio.Always Wish they would bring back Carnival in the Sky. Patsy

We always stay at Rio. Hard to beat with the room size, free parking and excellent location near the highway. This next trip in December we may stay at Westgate. They have a $75 F&B credit per room per night promotion. Rio lacks staffing and has recently started charging people $500 for smoking when they have not.

Rio . . . has recently started charging people $500 for smoking when they have not.

You're claiming that Rio has instituted a policy or practice of adding $500 to the hotel bill of guests who do NOT smoke in their rooms.

Could you explain what this comment is based on?

Seems very, VERY unlikey to be true.
