Getting the Runaround at Strip Hotels Check-In

lasvegasgambler, I'm sorry you had a bad experience.

I'm pretty sure in 2001 Caesars Palace was owned by someone else, perhaps. Park Place Hotels??? The same company that used to own Ballys/Paris, Flamingo Hilton in Laughlin and maybe the property formerly known as the Las Vegas Hilton.

They're have been lots of changes in casinos during the past 11 years including how we book rooms over the internet.
Has anyone every tried to complain to Expedia or another on-line company?

If you are lucky you will get a stupid reply which has nothing to do with your issue and if you go back at them they just ignore you.

Forget about getting a human to speak to.
Did any of you think of using a good Travel Agent ?? Booking with your players club card gets very good rates. But a good travel agent will check that out for you.
Always a good idea to at least call a travel agent, you never know. Also call the casino directly, go to their website, Expedia, et al... You never know where the best deal will pop up.

Always be sure you log into your players account if checking rates online, even if you've never played there. A friend of mine is making his first ever Vegas trip in a few weeks and wants to stay at the Rio. He did all of the above. Then I suggested he sign up for a TotalRewards card online. He did, logged in and checked the rates again. Significantly lower.

We had this problem last year with a late arrival. My daughter is handicapped and we always book an accessible room. I called the hotel the morning of our flight to remind them that we would be late arriving. As luck would have it the flight was delayed and we were very late. When we got to the hotel they had given our room away(I'm sure to someone who was not handicapped). We were given a King non-accessible room for the night and were moved the next day. Accessible rooms are required by law to be the last to be given out but I am sure a desk clerk found it easier to give this room to someone who needed two beds than to keep it for us.
