GO Room - Worth the Upgrade?

Going to be in Vegas for a few days in July and received an email from the Flamingo regarding upgrading our room to a "GO Room". What is a GO Room exactly? Our stay is already comped but is it worth the $30 upgrade to the GO Room?

It's a remodeled room at the Flamingo. You will probably be able to find a picture on their website. The remodel was in early 2007. I stayed in one in April 2007 and I did like it, but not as much as the rooms at caesars. The non-GO rooms probably haven't been touched since the 70's.

There is some chance that you could get an upgrade at check in, but there are lots of variables. what day of the week you are checking in, what time, who is behind the desk, etc. If it were me, personally, I would either pay up for the upgrade or see about staying somewhere else.

We are going in July, I wish I would get that email! I was planning on paying the $40/night upgrade, if we can get if for $30 that would be sweet! If the room is otherwise comped, it is worth it!

I went with the upgrade and went right back down to change to a "Normal room".

I could not deal with Neon PINK and other colors that made it look like a clown had exploded in the room.

I *loved* the GO Rooms, however, I got it comped upfront, I don't know that I would have booked a Flamingo room and then "hoped" for a GO room offer or $20 trick to get into the room. For $30/nite more? Yeah, I'd say take the offer but try the $20 trick first.
