Great gift wrap up question

Is this by invite only, or could you stay at a different hotel and still go there, or say, go there on a different offer but still go there to pick up gifts? also is it like a party, Beer food fun or like a garage sale?

You can stay anywhere and attend. In fact, alot of locals (no hotel) will be there.

Last year they had some beer/liquor sampling, but I do not remember if there was a cost for it. No food (except for perhaps a sample or two of candy, coffee, etc.).

Remember that they have (had anyway) gift cards for a number of places (like Home Depot) which are good for using up any extra credits you have.

You don't pick up the gifts. You shop (it's like an upscale garage sale), pick up a little card which is sitting next to the item, then go to a checkout to conclude the purchase. It's pretty fast and efficient. About a week or two or three later, you get the merchandise by UPS or other carrier. Be sure to go to the GGWU late in your visit, so your new TV doesn't sit on your front porch while you are still back in Vegas.

Last year we had a huge hassle because they mailed someone else's gift card in an envelope addressed to us. We had to talk to about 3 confused people at Harrah's before one of them finally zeroed out the erroneous card, and mailed another one to the rightful person.

We get only Home Depot gift cards. Good for planting a privet hedge or mulching the garden. Last year they were 3,500 points per $10.
