Great Race 2012 (Kiosks Card Swipe or Checkin)

RIO far left side of TR counter-computer screen with card scanner hanging on left side in the back of screen. Swipe your card, then check front of screen to make sure your name shows. Screen has Great race on it. No TR staff monitoring this area when I swiped my card.
Council Bluffs have to show ID at Rewards counter.
For those planning on stopping i Southern Indiana Horsehoe (outside of Lousville), I have a deal for you.

I have a FREE certificate good for one free night at the hotel (Mon or Tues only), good until 9-25-12. I won it at the hotel last month and hate to see it go to waste. It is completely transferable.

Let me know.

Just returned yesterday (August 18, 2012) from Harrahs Joliet (IL). At this location you have to go to total rewards desk. I was asked for my ID and then my TR card was swiped for check-in on this promotion.

Metropolis is definitely a swipe and you have to go to the counter and hand your card over...at least that was the case two weeks ago when my wife and I were there.

In STL, be sure to swipe inside the casino next to the TR desk and not at the kiosk in the main entry way outside the casino. You can swipe without showing ID or any contact with the staff.

Thank you soooo much for this information about Rio. I stayed at Caesars over the weekend and had the most difficult time there swiping for the Great Race. I had 5 cards I needed to swipe (including my own) but because of all of the issues I had (too numerous to mention), I was only able to get myself registered. So then I went to Rio to check out their situation, and I walked past the TR counter to scope it out first. I didn't see any kiosk or anything, so I thought, crap, maybe the kiosk is somewhere else? I checked my phone for this thread and saw Raisin7's post with the exact details and location of the monitor. I was able to swipe 2 cards and then had my mom swipe the other 2, without anyone noticing.

Although I think I might have screwed up and need advice. I swiped all 4 cards at Rio, but then only played two of them at Rio for the 25 points. The other two I played at Caesars. I guess I assumed that since all the Vegas properties counted as one location, I should be OK swiping at one and playing at the other. Was I wrong???
For your sake I hope I'm wrong, as I understand the rules, one needs to play at the casino they swipe at.

My friend emailed last night (I know you replied to me on the other board too, but I thought I'd post this info here too in case anyone needed it).

Here is her email and their response:

Dear Ms. N:

Thank you for contacting Bally's! We appreciate your interest in our Great Race to Rewards! In answer to your question, Ms. N, yes, as long as you opted in at the destination your play at any of the properties would qualify for the promotion.

I trust this information is helpful, and please let us know if we can assist you with anything else.

Thanks again and have a great day!

Your Question 08/23/2012 01:15 PM
A few days ago, I swiped my card to opt in for the Race To Rewards at Rio. I however played and got my 25 points at Caesars. I am hoping I will still receive the proper credit for that destination, as I hope to get all of the destinations needed for $750.
Any updates on Tahoe? Last year it was no problem - swipe on your own.

Just a clarification--
we DID swipe at Hammond today
Kiosks are by MAIN TR area--2 at far end
(you'll see Great Race Logo pop up on them)
IF it says your card has an invalid number--
play on it and then swipe--it should recognize
it then. . . . .
