Great Race for Rewards 2012?

This was just posted on TA someones hosted e mailed them:

Yes the Race starts again July 1st – Oct 1st. There have been some changes over last year and it is a little more complicated

Changes include:

Must earn 25 or more tier credits at each destination in one gaming day.

Gaming days vary by property. Windsor’s is 4 am – 3:59 am; most other properties are 6 am – 5:59 am. We can go over this if you think it will be an issue once you decide on where you are visiting.

Each destination has a value of 1 – 3 Check Points (18 total destinations)

Vegas & Laughlin count as 1 destination with a 3 check point value

Tunica counts as 1 destination with a 3 point value

Atlantic City counts as 1 destination with a 2 point value

Louisiana Downs & Bossier City are 1 destination with a 2 point value

Joliet and Hammond are 1 destination with a 2 point value

Council Bluffs is 1 destination worth 2 points

Ak-Chin & Rincon are 1 destination worth 2 points

Single properties worth 2 points each are:

Chester, PA; Windsor,ON; Biloxi; Metropolis, IL; North Kansas City; New Orleans; Southern Indiana; Cleveland, OH;

Lake Tahoe & Reno are 1 destination worth 1 point

St Louis and Cherokee are each worth 1 point

Receive the reward credit awards based on the total check points earned by the end of the promotion

– 6 CheckPoints earned _ 10,000 RCs

– 8 CheckPoints earned _ 25,000 RCs

– 11 CheckPoints earned _ 50,000 RCs

- 15 CheckPoints earned _ 75,000 RCs
Very nice, I loved this promo! I earned 450 last year, and am still using the last of my credits.

I can understand why they made the changes they did; 25 tier points to keep people from bringing their friends cards and swiping them; and the checkpoint system to try and draw you to certain properties.

It's interesting that St. Louis is only worth one point. If they wearn't selling, think it would get you two points?
Siwst852, thanks for posting the details.
Not only does one need to play to participate, locations are combined to equal a destination.

Raisin, on average Phoenix is 5 to 8 degrees warmer then Vegas and more humid during July/August (monsoon season). Sept is way less humid and the early mornings and nights begin to cool off.
I guess No sidetrip to Laughlin this year. Bad move on HET's part to make them "same" prop as
that will hurt Laughlin. Plus they are definately 2 different Areas. 90 mins apart if you drive fast. lol

Reno/Tahoe one destination, makes alittle more sense, they're about 40 mins apart. But only 1 point?
Not worth peoples time, unless you are making the trek anyway.

Requiring 25 Tier points is reasonable.
I HOPE they keep the kiosks, cuz standing in Line for a boothling to scan, wastes time.......

This NEW Summer- scenario is also going to take some figuring.............I think making certain props More Points,
makes this more complicated, and could hurt certain props.

I agree it is a bit more complicated and I think it will hurt some properties like Laughlin. I am a little bummed becasue I had planned an LV trip in October , I might have to move it.

Looks like I am going to drive my car to FL. Stopping in I am looking at the hotels now.
2 Cleveland OH
2 S Indiana
2 Metrolpolisa , IL
3 tunica
2 Biloxi
2 NOLA
13
Ak-Chin, Vegas and Laughlin are easily doable for me. The cost of traveling to Rincon and Tahoe/Reno is more than the $100 worth of points I'd receive. Last year, we had a road trip planned to Tahoe/Sacramento. It was very easy to come home through Reno, Vegas and Laughlin.
A little more tough to get the points this year. Looks like a minimum of seven destination to get to the 15 and that's if you don't hit any of the 1 pointers.
I can get myself to 10 points if I follow last year's road trip. It's getting that last point to get to 11 that's going to be the tough part. I mean, who wants to go to Cleveland?
Siwst852, you got more info than I got from CET.

Lisa, thanks for the weather and climate info, but with the pairing of Rincon with Ak-Chin, my drive to Phoenix is out. I agree the reward credit benefit is less than the cost of travel for us.

So it looks like 6 points (LV-Tahoe-Rincon) wil be all for us this year (10,000 reward credits).

Too bad they didn't have the info out on this before Southwest had their good airfares earlier this month.

This way I only have to visit 3 casinos to get my 10,000 rcs. Saves my bankroll and helps preserve my average.

I like the 25 tier credit earned requirement, just wish they would have left the pairings the way they were last year, and just required a visit to one additional casino to earn 75,00 rcs instead of 60,000rcs.

For those of you that know the CET casinos east of Texas, any group of 2 or 3 worth 5 points that are within a reasonable driving distance of each other? Just in case the airfares should fall(like that's going to happen).
Raisin, it depends on your definition of reasonable. Last year I did St. Louis, Metropolis, and Southern Indiana. The trip was just under 800 miles. I'm based out of Indianapolis, so that was what worked for me. Plus another trip to Hammond (by Chicago).

If (ok, when) I do it again, I'll probably go in reverse order, and stay at Metropolis, since I'm flooded with offers from them now.

In looking at a few maps, a possibly for you is Metropolis and Tunica, MS. And if you base out of Nashville, maybe throw in Southern Indiana. Again, depends on your definition of reasonable.
