Great Race for Rewards 2012?

Thanks DarrenInGreenwood. I got out my US map, marked all the casinos and their point value and checked out the mileage between all the midwest and southern casinos. You are right,Tunica and Metropolis would be the best to earn the 5 points, but it's 3600 driving miles roundtrip from my home to do this, and the best airfare I found was $390 roundtrip (before adding a rental car) making this idea a no go for me.

Well I'll take my 10,000 reward credits and be happy. I used my 45,000 reward credits from last year's promotion, but husband and son still have theirs.

Elaine and I maxed out last year. Got grandson a IPAD 32 for Christmas, a nice vacuum for our new home in Vegas, and 3 $34 decorator Caesars towels for our guest restroom. Plus we needed the rooms for Vegas trip. Now we live in Vegas so do not ever play CET as they have no playable VP in this town as opposed to Chicago (Horseshoe Hammond). No offers except Laughlin now.
Anyone have information on which casinos actually have a kiosk to swipe your card and not have to stand in line at the Total Rewards area? I found that Kansas City has one but none of the other ones do. Any in Vegas?

Second thing I am wondering is how much is 25 points earned? I think it should be $25 in for slots? Is that right?

We are busy planning a route now. We are doing the midwest route on two seperate trips. First to Cleveland, Detroit and Chicago adn then to S. Indiana, S. Ill, St louis, Tunica, KC and hit Council Bluff on the way home.

25 tier points would be $125 coin-in for slots....$250 coin-in for VP. CET tier points are 1 pt = $5 slots $10 VP.

The way the casinos are bundled makes it hard for me to get the 6pts for the min. Can't believe Rincon and Ak-chin are bundled since they are so far apart. I am still enjoying the RCs I earned last year.
so you have to go to Rincon and ak-chin to get one point, or go to either to get one point? A bit confused here? Same thing for Laughlin/Vegas.
Vegas 3 pts or Laughlin 3 pts, or you must go to both to get the three points?

I am disapointed in this. The prices of the airfare or car rentals exceeds the comps rewarded. We won't bother.

It is my take that you need to go to Laughlin or Vegas to get the 3 points not both. But as with most CET contests it is confusing. Again no information is posted on most of the Casino web sites. Last year it was weeks into it before most of the confusion/questions stopped.

We already had Vegas trip booked for September. Best scenario I can map out is to make 11 Checkpoints for the 50,000 RCs. Will be visiting 2 new casino locations with this promotion so I guess they put a "little" thought into the planning for this one.

Doesn't work out economically for us to try for the 75,000. We could possibly make 14 but the 15th just puts it out of the reasonable range.

We will be happy with the 11 but with the new rules we will need to ensure that the right amount of credits are awarded during the 2 short stopovers we have planned. We always seem to have problems when visiting new properties with the slot display continually showing "gathering your information" before displaying the proper number of points to our accounts. Coming up short of the 11 checkpoints would make a big difference in final award.

We both still have $450 from last year's promotion. We have a hard time spending the credits in Vegas with so many comp's and inexpensive eats already available. Maybe we can see a couple of the new shows next year. We had planned on using some of the credits last month to pay for show tickets but we didn't know until the last day that they had been comp'd so no way to make other plans. Just can't see ourselves cashing them in for 50% value on slot play but maybe with $1000 in the account it may be a viable option.
