Great Race for Rewards 2012?

This is a good promo and CET learned slot from last year. In 2011, we did Vegas, Laughlin, Southern Indiana, and St. Louis.

This year, Vegas is definite sine we are here until July 2. We would have to make the drive to Tunica, So, Indiana, maybe Metropolis and Hammond Horseshoe to get more than 10,000checkpoints. St, Louis is pretty far for just one point. It's going to be MUCH tougher this year, but I do get why.
I posted in the East of MISS but also will ask here. I have an extra day to add and wonder if Elizabeth or Metropolis would be worth and extra night? I wasn't really impressed with Elizabeth my last visit but perhaps things have improved .

It is a good promo if you are already planning on traveling. A few extra stops and voila.

They should have combined properties based on mileage alone. (Ak-Chin-Rincon? Vegas-Laughlin? How about AC-Chester? How about NOLA-Biloxi?)

NOLA-Biloxi definitely should be 1 if Vegas and Laughlin are. When you book online they group NOLA & Biloxi as 1 destination.

but it doesn't , and it also says " Caesars Palace Las Vegas, Flamingo Las Vegas and Harrah's Laughlin (2 CheckPoints)"

Just a typo. The OFFICIAL RULES say this:

IThree (3) CheckPoint Destinations Southern Nevada (Paris, Bally's, Rio, Caesars Palace, Flamingo, Harrah's Las Vegas, Imperial Palace, Planet Hollywood and Harrah's Laughlin)

Pretty clear that it's 3 from rules. No way they'd make different casinos in same locale different point values.

I prefer Southern Indiana over Metropolis. I swung through Metropolis last year after St. Louis, and was not overwhelmed by it. It's a smaller riverboat, and seemed a little cramped to me. I've heard they hotel is pretty nice, but I cannot confirm.

Southern Indiana is a boat as well, but from what I recall it is one of the larger riverboat style casinos out there. Each floor is pretty long, and wide enough that you don't feel shoehorned in. I'm assuming the hotel is nice as well, and they have more of a resort feel with golf, spa, etc. Plus it's close to Louisville. Metropolis is near...Paducah.

The best thing I can say about Metropolis is that I'm now flooded with offers of 2 for 1 buffets, cheap weeknight rooms, and 5-10 dollars of free slot play. This after running $20 through a penny slot, and half an hour of blackjack. The offers are tempting me to include it in my points roadtrip, so I guess that part is working for them.
Thanks Darren maybe I wont stay extra at either.:>)
I sent this question to them yesterday. Hopefully the response will clarify things.

I'm confused by the rules and FAQ's. In order to earn the checkpoints for locations with multiple properties, do I have to earn 25 points at each property or just one property? In the FAQ examples it states "Paris Las Vegas and Harrah's Laughlin (3 CheckPoints)" and also states "Caesars Palace Las Vegas, Flamingo Las Vegas and Harrah's Laughlin (2 CheckPoints)".
In order to receive 2 CheckPoints for Council Bluffs, Iowa, do I need to earn 25 tier at BOTH Hosrseshoe and Harrahs or at just one of them? In order to receive 3 CheckPoints for Tunica, do I need to earn 25 tier at each of the casinos or just at one? How many casinos in the Southern Nevada destination do I need to earn 25 Tier credits at AND must one of those casinos be Harrah's Laughlin in order to receive 3 CheckPoints?
Just got this response to my question and I am really surprised. This could change everybodie's planning.

Hi Martin,

Las Vegas and Laughlin are considered one destination. You only need to earn 25 Tier Credits at any location within this destination. Same with Council Bluffs, you only need 25 Tier Credits from either of those two casinos. To earn the 3 points in Tunica, you only need to do it at one casino. Hope this helps and best of luck to you as you play. Have a great summer.

Yes they did make it more difficult this year. That is a bummer but I do get it. I just wish you did not have to go to the booth at each place. I hope they have kiosks, as the booths are not open 24hours in most places, so early morning late night stops are out

If you must register at the booth, the hours of the booth are just as if not more important than the hours of the gambling day.
Martin thanks for the clarification. My trip is on.
