Great Race for Rewards 2012?

I will be awaiting word after July 1...........HOW it works at the different Casinos as far as
Kiosk scanning VS. Boothlings & show I.D. ? PLEZ Let there be kiosks!

Not that I would EVER play on my husbands card or anything..

Also, curious to know peoples ROUTES?
HOW are y'all going to get the most bang, from your driving-buck? Stops where? How far is it?

Looking at their Map.............Even if I did ALL the West Coast casinos, (thats only 6 points, big-whoop), and more Driving/flying, than points are worth!
Were screwed on the West Coast. Thanks again CE.
If airfares were at the levels they were 2-3 weeks ago (before Harrah's announced this), I would do:

Bossier City (Drive)
New Orleans-Biloxi (Air, then driving)
Tunica (Air to Little Rock, then 3 hrs. driving)
Kansas City-Council Bluffs - and, if needed, St. Louis (Air + driving)
Las Vegas, which I will do anyway. (Air + driving, slot tournament + Fireworks + Free Jersey Boys + Sam's Town full RFB)

Other scenarios with relatively low airfares:
LAS-San Diego
LAS-Phoenix
Also, Kansas City - LAS has been very low.

But you can't do both SAN and PHX.

Airfares are approximately double now what they were during the Southwest sale. I can't do any 8-hour drives. I just don't love Harrah's that much.

Meanwhile, I am seeing hundreds of posts on other boards about trading cards, swiping and playing for each other when the kioske is unattended.

Sorry

If anyone who does the race can let us know if there are kiosks available at the casinos it would be much appreciated!
Has any one done the drive from Tunica to New Orleans??? Whats the time? Google map says it is about 6 hrs. We made Tunica this spring in about 8 hrs. I figure we could hit Louisvile, Metroplis, Tunica, New Orleans and Biloxi. There would be 3 of us to split the cost of gas and my little car made it to Tunica on just 1 1/2 tanks of gas. Just trying figure out how to hit 4 more check points. Cleveland is only 4 hrs away. Just wish Cincy had there casino.

It may be a bit far for you , but the only other one in that area is Bossier City (Shreveport) - 2 points, 5 hrs from Tunica and 5 hrs. to NOLA. It has a beautiful marble-and-crystal chandelier Horseshoe hotel, 3 levels of casino on a HUGE riverboat, a good steakhouse and an Asian restaurant in addition to the buffet. Even though some areas have suffered since Jack Binion's departure (esp. the buffet which was piled high with shrimp and crawfish before, much less now), it is still a very nice place.

The steakhouse has a view of the Red River and the Huey Long bridge if you ask for a window table. It is next door to a Bass Pro Shop and a premium outlet mall.

Across the river is a Sam's Town (good) and an El Dorado (I've never been).

The drive from Bossier to NOLA has some famous plantations near Baton Rouge - Oak Alley, etc.

The best thing about New Orleans is the food. I would allow a lot of time for that. Mother's is a short walk from Harrah's (and a long line to get in), and there is a Cafe du Monde in the mall across the street.

Beware of speed traps.

We Go to Biloxi nearly every Feb and spend our first nite out at Tunica- from there to Biloxi is 6hrs (+\- 15min). So I would say almost exactly the same for NO. Straight Interstate to the Superdome. Have a great trip.
Driving hrs Start MI
2.5 Cleveland OH 2
3.25 Friends house
4.25 Horseshoe Southern IN 2
4 Harrah's Metropolis Casino 2
4 Tunica 2
6 Biloxi, MS 3
NOLA or Vegas not sure 2-3

Also I am doing Caesars Windsor 2
total of 15-16
Just a reminder regarding airfares--
the Race goes until 01Oct--That's
3 MONTHS--July, Aug and Sept to
plan for airfares. Sept is typically
a low flying month so look for air
sales for that month or try pricing
that month now. . . . .As far as I
can tell--the airlines are just starting
to promote end-of-summer and fall air.
Also, anyone that swipes in Vegas or
anywhere else beginning tomorrow--please
give us details. . . . . .

Couldn't agree more.

I don't understand why Atlantic City/Philadelphia, 1.5 to 2.0 hrs apart, are considered 2 areas when Ak-Chin/ Rincon, 6 or so hours apart, are considered as one as are Vegas/Laughlin, 1.5 to 2.0 hrs apart.

Great Race this year is totally not worth my time. Transportation costs way outweigh the benefits.
