Harrah's AC new drink policy

My GF went into the bar at Harrah's AC last Friday because she wanted a glass of wine. The bartender asked to see her players club card. The bartender explained, Harrah's AC now swipes your player’s club card when you want an alcoholic beverage & Harrah’s limits the amount of FREE alcoholic beverages to one every 20 minutes.
Being inquisitive, she left the bar & went out to a VP machine to see if this policy is true & tried to order a drink from the menu on the VP machine & was denied.
It should be noted your players club card is not swiped for non-alcoholic beverages.
However, at the Showboat no such policy is in place, as of yet.
Good to know but come on.. if you're gambling your hard earned monmey- why WOULD you WANT to get sloppy drunk & drink more than one every 1/2 hour...?
I mean what are you there for?? and there's always the DL..you can have as many free cocktails as y'all want.
But I say pick ONE vice and do it well..... I pick gambling!
I'm in full agreement with JM. Two drinks an hour should be fine. However, I can also understand that once again, this appears to yet another restriction that Harrahs is imposing. No doubt under the banner of responsible drinking, but I have no doubt, it's another way to limit previous expected comps and save a few bucks on the back of the middle and low end player.

Anybody want to guess that if the card they swipe is a 7 Stars card, that person will be able to get any many as they want. I would also be curious to see if this new policy will rear it's ugly head in Vegas soon. Personally, it doesn't matter to me; but I am concerned about the continuing depletion of room comps, food in the DL, limited Host access, loss of comped shows...the list seems to be endless...all the while as Caesar's continues its endless acquisions of properties elsewhere while still holding debt in the BILLIONS.

Oops...turned into a small rant...sorry.
Is this a change to New Jersey statute? Although the state of California does not allow comping of alcoholic beverages, they also have the 20 minute rule. Once at Rincon, I tried to buy 2 drinks, one for me and one for a friend, at the bar while the friend was playing table games. They would only sell me 1 drink because my friend wasn't with me.

No.

This is a Harrah's customer service decision.

I have personally ordered many drinks at other AC venues (Showboat, Bally's, Borgata) and been served more than 1 beverage per half hour, and/or double/triples or quads (if requested). [I often like to 'walk' with an XO Cognac, and will request a triple pour, before I'm done gaming....]

Conceptually, I agree with JM; but it is a matter of personal responsibility. We should all be personally responsible for how much we drink, as well as how much we gamble. There are many non-drinking compulsive gamblers; and it's not like the casino is restricting their amount of gaming, so why restrict alcohol.

BTW, Mohegan Sun has a 'loose' one drink every 20 minute rule; which is 'basically' waived on many occasions for VIP (status) guests in lounges and such.

Quad, you da man. Since when does the waitress come every 20 minutes. LMFAO Its a dumb "rule" just go around every 20 minutes. I have played for 2 straight hours without getting a coffee, in the morning.
