Harrahs comps

Is it better to pay for food and restaurants as you go (from comp money) or charge to your room and pay at the end of your stay. I thought I remembered reading something about this before and I can't find it now.
My husband is platinum, but we don't have a host if that matters! We do have alot of comps from the Race to Rewards. Thanks for any help you can give.

If using points in LV it's better to use at point of purchase instead of charging to your room. When using points at point of purchase (restaurants, shops) you are not charged the tax. Just the cost of the meal or item is deducted from your account. If you charge to your room you are will be charged the total including sales tax.

This only applies to food and store items (maybe spa?). If you pay for your room using points you are also charged all taxes. The entire amount is deducted from your account.
