Harrahs's Laughlin $100 comp coupon

Two weeks ago I was at Harrahs's with my brother Tom and our women, we went to the small bar near the middle tower and there was four video poker machines in a row, I sat at the right machine and inserted my $100 comp ticket, the bartender said that there was quarter machines on the other side, What! I had just put my ticket in a dollar machine. Bummer I thought, because I never play dollar machines and you can't cash your ticket out until you've played it all. Well I pushed max play and got four spades, I went for the flush and to my surprise I pulled out a straight flush for $250 I kept playing and cashed out $300! Yay!

Gloria and I than split the money and played Goldfish for about two hours on three machines (I like to play two). My brother kept calling me to tell me that he was at the Diamond Lounge eating, so Gloria and I cashed out and with all the video/slots, tips I only spent $12 dollars at Harrah's that day! Yay!!!
Good deal. Take 'em for all you can.
How did you obtain the $100 comp coupon?
Most likely via a monthly mailer.

Not sure why you think this is true. In MANY casinos, many times when I have a bill acceptor that won't work, I insert my bills into the next machine and hit cash out, and then use that voucher in the other machine. I cannot imagine this works differently in Harrah's Laughlin, which I play at a few times a year. The only thing I can think of is that you already had hit the play button and you were in the middle of a hand.

I'm pretty sure the OP was referring to a real rewards coupon. Real rewards coupons like free slot play need to be played through once before cashing out.
