Has anyone stayed at the Cromwell with in the past 4 months?

I was wondering how others feel about the Cromwell. I stayed during the soft opening and decided I wasn't the demographic they were after. Just curious how others have found the hotel if you're not the 20 year old beach club/night club type.

Am I missing something great if I never get to Giada's?
I stayed there for a couple of nights in late July. My former host at the Palms, now at the Cromwell contacted me about staying with a comped room. There was still a resort fee charge, though. The room was nice and extras such as some free champagne helped. I did pretty well in video poker at the bar but the table games were rather lousy. I didn't make it to the pool other than to look around. Of course it was scorching hot outside. For me it was a nice change to be on the strip since I usually stay at the Palms and still consider it my Vegas home. I might stay at the Cromwell again but only if comped and if I was there with a female. I don't care too much for dumpy casinos but I don't need one to be overly fancy either. Having some of the new food options in the Linq alley way was kind of cool.

We had lunch at Giada's last Saturday. I'd requested the reservation for 4 about a month in advance asking for a window seat, we had a nice view out, but not close enough to see the fountains or people walking by.

We had an awesome lunch, everyone thoroughly enjoyed the food. I had the arugula salad with chicken milanese, hubby the filet mignon sliders, friend the lasagna special, and her husband a pizza. We started with the orzo meatballs, prosciutto and olives (each a separate item).

The bill was $223 before tip, but I would say approx. $100 was for alcohol. My friend and I each had 2 glasses of wine at $15/glass (that was the cheapest price per glass), so that's $60 right there. The mixed drinks were cheaper, Captain/Coke were $7.50 as was a Bloody Mary.

Thanks for the info on Giada.

I stayed there this past summer. The place only has 180 rooms to the service is OUTSTANDING including lemon ice water pitchers in the afternoon and coffee in the morning on every floor at the elevators. Rooms are beautifully designed but be aware that the floor length mirror is the shower is a two way mirror so your bod can be viewed by those in the living room (in shadow). They used to offer free breakfast in the morning but discontinued now that Giada's offers brunch (not free) there. The pool area on the room is AMAZING, be sure to visit.

I spoke with the GM during the 7 Star Brunch this past Sunday at Giada's who told us all the windows are being changed with very thick glass to stop any sound from the Strip or club upstairs. The gaming is your usual CET variety of short pay VP and machines, but I'd stay there again in a heartbeat.

JMan, thanks for the info about the glass. I'd like to stay there on our next trip, but I'm super senstivie to noise while sleeping (especially that deep thumping bass), so questioned whether or not to give it a try.

During our last trip my host booked me a suite at Paris with an awesome strip view, but I changed the room at check in and said I didn't care about room, I just wanted a room with the least noise. We ended up with a suite which faced east and south and I could still hear some club noise (bass), I'm not sure if it was from Paris, P-Ho or Cosmo, but it wasn't loud enough to keep me up.
