Higher room rates if you want two queen beds or a handicap accessible room

While making a reservation on Caesar's website I found they are now charging extra if you want a two queen bed room. I can agree with that as there may be more people using the room. However, they are also charging extra if you want a handicapped accessible room with a roll in shower or a tub with a grab bar. While using my account the rate for three nights in a deluxe room was comped but if I wanted a king roll in accessible room the rate is $185.98 for three nights.

Wondering if that is legal? What an insult to those with special needs who need that type of room.

Purely guessing.....

I would think it would be illegal if you're handicapped, but if the end user is not handicapped, I can't imagine why it would be illegal.
Lots of variables go into room rates. Sometimes specific rooms can be sold out per offer type. Sometimes you can clear the cookies in your computer, start over and see different prices for the same nights. I don't think anyone is intentionally being discriminatory. Sometimes one needs to call to get what they need.

I had to call to add a 3rd night to an upcomiing reservation. Origninal reservation was booked comped at Paris for 2 nights. Newbie said it would be $179 for the 3rd night at Paris because of availability. After I declined, he found me the 3rd night comped at PHo.
I checked all the Caesars owned properties for a late July trip (Sat-Tues) yesterday and I also saw the issue you mention at the Caesars Palace location, but not the others (Planet Hollywood, Harrahs, Paris, Rio, Flamingo, and Imperial Palace).

I agree that it does not make sense, but perhaps they are testing a new approach to reduce the number of people staying in a room (especially for thw weekend party crowd), and force them into getting two rooms instead. Caesars Palace just did add a large new tower, so maybe that has something to do with it.

It seems the Vegas hotels are a lot like the airlines.Constantly finding new ways to nickel and dime the consumers.
First visit to Vegas in 1978 I stayed at Caesars. I thought the room was great, but the gambling sucked. While walking thru the crap table pit area the craps crew, to a man, looked at me like they would look at their shoe after scraping the dog $hit off of the bottom of their shoe. That look they gave then answered all questions I would have about staying there again. I have not been back and won't ever stay there again.
