Hotel overbooking

It seems like I have been reading alot about Caesars telling people that are checking in that the hotel is "Overbooked" This seems to be happening even if the room has been booked for weeks.
Has this happened to anyone here??
We are leaving for 6 night stay in two weeks, just wondering if there is anythig that can be doe to avoid a mess
like this.
Any help would be great.
I usually call to confirm my reservation a few weeks out then reconfirm a couple days before I arrive.
Part of the problem could be that Caesars is renovating the Centurion Tower so 180 rooms are (or will be) out of circulation.

Only once out of a dozen stays have we had a potential problem. A few years back, we arrived late (after 11:30 p.m.) on a busy Friday night and they told me that they were overbooked and "walking" people to sister properties like Flamingo. Since I was Diamond at the time, they took care of me in an Augustus Tower, but several people were upset to be told to go to a different hotel. I would only be concerned if you are checking in late on a weekend, especially if there is a fight or other big event going on in town.
In my 75+ trips to LV over the last 16 years (probably over a 150 hotel bookings), I've never checked on a booking and never had a problem on arrival. With a printed confirmation, they will make sure I get a room.

where are you reading this? I recall a few years ago, when they were overbooked and people had to go acros the street to Flamingo or Ballys or somewhere when they had booked at Caesars. But that was before the recession. I have not heard of any property being near 100% occupancy in the past couple of years

There is bright side to this. If you have a conformation number, your credit card has been charged, and you are told no room at the Inn. Someone has a problem--maybe you for a short time. I'm sure it could be worked out to your benefit.
I was reading the hotel reviews on caesars web site.
There have been quite a few overbooking and bad reviews there.
Best to arrive early in the day. Let someone else get bumped.
recently? And overbooked as in they did not get a room at all or overbooked as in they didn't get the Bellagio fountain view in Augustus tower they wanted? If the former and these were fairly recnt, maybe you might want to consider staying somewhere else if you are arriving late
Recently as in the past week ,forum tower reservations and sent to Flamingo or Ballys
