How long to drive to Laughlin from Vegas

Can anyone tell me about how long it takes to drive from Vegas to Laughlin? We are thinking about making the trip in 3 weeks for another Great Race stop. Mapquest is saying 1hr 45 minutes. Just wondering if anyone has done it and if that is pretty accurate or not. Thank in advance for any info.

pretty accurate. Maybe can knock 15 min off trip. I think it is about 95 miles.

Flew into Laughlin on a Harrah's junket in April and heard the flight attendants say they live in LV but have a flop apartment that they share for brief lay-overs in Laughling. So I asked how long the drive took them from LV and she said about one and a half hours, but would allow 2hours if you are starting on the Strip. We have never done it but plan to in the future--- and at least that is what she told us.

Driving From Vegas to Laughlin

Dont forget to stop in Searchlight. They are known for the abundance of water (article at the local casino/restaurant). I didnt see any. About 1.5 hour

You better some to a near stop at least in Searchlight as I think the speed limit is 25! It's an easy 90 min drive as long as there's no road construction. Also factor in what part of LV you're going to/from and the time of day. For instance, the difference between Sunset Station and DT at 6am might 10 minutes, but at 5pm might be 30 minutes. Another factor could be I-15 if your on the strip or the Summerlin Parkway if you stay at the Suncoast. My experience has been Laughlin to the 215 in Henderson is about 90 min in reasonable traffic.

The speed limit in Searchlight is 25 mph.

I made the drive last Sunday. It was not a bad drive. The road is very good and there was no traffic. Glad I was prepared for the speed limit change in Searchlight. Did not see a single highway patrol car.

Thanks for all the responses. We are going to do the drive on 9/19 Mon. starting out around 10:00 am so hopefully traffic won't be too bad. I can't wait.

Just did the trip last week. It's two lanes in both directions and a very easy journey. Went at 6am and it took 85mins from the Hilton to Harrahs. Returned at 8am and it took 90mins. Both times there was no traffic to speak off. Set the cruise for 5 miles over speed limit.
