I'm Glad CET Is Upgrading Bally's South Tower Rooms - But...

Bally's really needs an upgrade to the exterior. It is shameful how pitiful it looks while riding the moving walkway into the casino. The landscaping that was once so nice is dying and what is left is very thinned out. The "blue" paint on the "waterfall" is bleached to the point it it practically white. It didn't look this way when Park Place owned them - CET has let Bally's go, even as they spend ridiculous amounts of $$$ on Project Linq and renovating Bill's into another boutique hotel/casino (I'd rather have Bill's any day).
Yes, they are certainly spending a lot of money on new projects as well as improvements. Those renovated south tower rooms at Bally's should go for a premium since they have fabulous strip views. Don't know why they didn't do it sooner. Hopefully they will redo the front entrance next.
What happened to all those rumors that Ballys was going to be torn down?
I don't think they're going to tear it down any time soon, for many reasons.

They have planned on replacing the moving walkway, water features, etc with the "Grand Bazaar" concept. https://www.grandbazaarshops.com/

And if you go back and look at MGM era pictures, that walkway, water features, etc. used to be a parking lot.

I stay at Ballys often, and will be staying there for a week at the end of July. I totally agree with you.
That was meant as a reply to antennanut but actually I agree with everyone so far lol
Hmmmm. Sounds like good news. I'm staying in the South (Jubilee) tower (which is right in front of the poker room ) August 12-16th on a 4 night comp and I'm hoping that there is a newly remodeled room with my name on it at check in!

That answers my question - more shopping. Thanks for the info.

We have decided to stay there this week-end because I want to give them some play in preparation for the new tower which, if I am not mistaken are not available until Sept. I changed our ressies from Rio for a couple of reasons including the weather and am hoping I am not too sad about it. I do love the view from the S Tower but i suspect that the rooms will not be getting any better until the reno is completed. I have been waiting for this for a couple of years now, since a front desk agent told me it would be happening eventually. The Jubilee Tower will be prime property with that view.
Interesting enough...When I booked my 4 nights comp stay for August (months ago) they put me in the South Tower. Now when I check my res it has me in the North tower.?! No big deal!!
