Imperial Palace

Any suggestions on what type of room to request at the IP.

Wondering if there are any renovated rooms.

I am not expecting anything grand, just clean really.

The price was cheap cheap and the room is for my girls who will be meeting us in Vegas in May.

Thanks for any recommendations.
I'd go with the Love Tub rooms, just for the pure kitsch.
Go for Deluxe or Luv Tub. Avoid the Capri rooms. The Capri rooms are motel-style, directly adjacent to the parking ramp. Besides the obvious scent and noise issues, they are also (why???) priced higher than the Deluxe rooms.

One word of caution re: Deluxe rooms. The rooms with a strip view are directly above Harrah's Carnaval Court, which typically has loud music until 2-3 in the morning. Doesn't bother me, as I'm usually not even in my room at that time - but it may bother some.

Also, most Deluxe rooms have a balcony.

Depending on your level of play and room availability, you may be able to be upgraded to one of about 10 Penthouse suites. These are in the tower overlooking the pool and are 3-room suites. I've been upgraded to these rooms a couple times just by asking.

UPDATE - Renovated Rooms - I don't think there are any. The Deluxe rooms are probably considered the most recently renovated, and it has been quite some time. I've never had an issue with cleanliness though. Every room I've stayed in there has been clean.

Thanks Brent, that is good to know.

Clean is key!

When you have been upgraded, do you just ask for any available upgrades or do you do the $20 trick to secure or is it based strictly from last play totals?

Can't wait for Vegas. The withdrawals are killing me!

Thanks again.

I'm not sure. I'm not an elite player by any means... just a lowly gold at Harrahs... but Imperial Palace is my home property, and I tend to "compress" my gambling into as few days as possible, so my ADT (average daily theoretical loss) is higher than some others.

You could always try the $20 trick. Never hurts.

Brent
Thanks Brent, I will try that.

30 more days to go!

Peggy
When we were there in January, they would not do free upgrades. I would still shoot for a pool view luv tub room. Stay away from the Capri Towers, they are to far away from the casino and I didn't care for them at all.

Good luck,
