imperial palace shakedown.

on oct 9th I checked in at the imperial palace hotel at 6pm. I was offered an upgrade to a suite for an extra charge of $10. I declined. I was told there were only a few rooms left and all were located by the carnival bar at Harrahs which is open until 4 am. The offer for an upgrade was actually a shakedown for $10 . Only a few rooms left on a tuesday night in oct ? Were were the dozens of people behind me on line going to stay? I went to the room and could hear the noise before I got into the room. Once in the room I realized I could not stay there and went back to check in. A different clerk gave me a different room. The worst room I have ever had in 50+ trips to vegas. My wife gets free rooms via total rewards but we were leaving very early next am for california and had no time to gamble so I paid for the room. My email complaint to customer service went without an answer.

I hope with the renaming and updating the exterior, they also invest in redoing the rooms.

And upgrade customer service.

They missed a perfect chance for an implosion

One of the hosts was escorted out with being terminated. Guess they reduced the hosts again making it harder to work with any hosts. With the new Quad comes new rates and new policies. Too bad we loved the location...

When it is all finished, it might be a good place to stay and we do love the location but with the announcement about re-doing Bill's now it looks like there will be construction on that block for years to come. I guess that has been the consistent Vegas theme for years though.

Disappointing to hear they are messing with Bill's. It's like they just have to change and spend money to justify somebody's job. I think some icons are nice to keep around. And they kept IP???

We used to justify staying at this dump based on the location...that was about seven years ago and we haven't stayed there since.

Maybe we will walk through after the rennovation but, I would only recommend staying there now to college kids who just needed a room to store their stuff.

Have anybody stayed in the renovated rooms ? If so how are they,we will be staying there for New-Years Eve
