Imperial Palace vs Bally's - Need Help!

We are planning end of March trip - We need 2 rooms - One room is comped at IP and the other will be charged $220 (for 5 nights).......Bally's offer - One room is comped and the other will be $340.00 (for 5 nites)

Need to know.....How is the IP? (Last time I was there was 1989) Is it safe to take elevator at 2:00 am to your room? (women traveling) Is it clean?

Is Bally's way better or just a little better than IP?

Thanks for your help. L.

hi- nice to see you posting lvtravel..

Bally's is way better, bigger, neater only IF you get North Tower
but I've stayed at IP twice and I like it... sure, it's CET red-headed step child but it's smaller and safe.
Does your group have a sense of humor? Seriously.. it would help.
That said, I would NEVER pay that much to stay there- it's kitschy and worn to the bare-bone.
Have you tried (Barbary Coast) Bills Gambling Hall for prices?
IP is run down, the elevators are slow, clunky, and unpleasant. While I have no safety issues it is not up to my standards for more then one or two nights. My 26yo son loves the place.

Bally's is much more pleasant and I wouldn't mine staying a week there. Is is also connected to Paris which could be a big plus for a girls trip.

Even Bally's south tower is nicer than the IP. That price seems kinda high. There must be a Fri and Sat included. I, personally, do not like the IP. I need a firm mattress and the IP does not have them.

Never stayed at Ballys. IP is safe and the rooms are clean but bare. The hallways to the rooms often are cluttered with room service debris. Elevators are slowwwwwww. Also the rooms overlooking Carnaval Court get all the noise from there (from what Ive heard). That being said, it's perfectly fine ****if**** you're looking for a clean place to sleep for a few hours. It is not fancy but the location for the price can rarely be beat.
Isn't the IP about to start renovations?? That might be a factor for you to consider also.

I've stayed at Bally's, both towers, and liked it very much.

Big Thanks for all of your help........We got a better deal at the Rio...so we will be staying there....(at half the cost as Bally's)....Now, I hope that the Rio is a good choice......Any comments?

Thanks Again, L.
The only negative for the Rio is getting to anyplace else. Seems they have cut back just a bit on the shuttle.
Rio is better.. it's a fine 20 minute walk to Palms

and Gold Coast is a hoot and a hollar- right across the parking lot. Cheaper/better food choices at GC. $5.00 BJ- tons of penny machines and nickle VP
You made the right decision
If you got the Rio for half the cost of Bally's, that means it was cheaper than the IP also. Good move! I like Rio's rooms. Like Sandy Paws said, the location isn't the greatest. Like Noahcat said, the Gold Coast has good gambling and food choices. The last time I stayed at Rio, I did the majority of my gambling at Gold Coast.
