Is my 72 yr old dad going to hate P-Hollywood

Just booked three nights at P-Hollywood comped...three rooms. My dad is not a fan of loud music and lots of "young" action. For that reason, is he going to hate P-Hollywood since the reviews I've read are that it's loud, dark, and full of action? I assume there will be places in the casino that he can find a little more peaceful action, or for that matter, can go to other casinos if it bothers him, but I wanted your opinions...We were originally comped at Ballys, but I found out we could "upgrade" to P-Hollywood for no additional cost.

He may not enjoy it. I wouldn't say he'd hate it, but I am a somewhat younger than 72, and I hate it. VERY dark, loud, and a neon-flashy feel.

OTOH, Bally's is so huge (with many stairs), I rather dislike that, too.

Paris is pleasant, bright, and inviting. Also try Harrah's. Seniors really like it there. (Lots of slant-top machines.)

It is very good of you to be concerned about his comfort and well-being.

Forget your dad being 72...I'm 33 and my wife is 29 and we both hate p-HO for those aforementioned reasons you've aptly laid out. Yes, your dad will not like Planet Hollywood, I'm sorry to say. Paris is a quick jaunt next door and if that's too much for him, meander over to Bally's....which (incidentally) is our favorite place to stay/play. The only place worse than p-HO is Rio for the exact same reasons. D-Bags and p-HO's galore at both places.

Good luck!
Just got back from a trip to P-Ho. I found the casino layout a bit confusing, very dark, and I felt very, very old @ 33 while walking through it. I didn't gamble there at all except for the hour before leaving for the airport. I didn't find it excessively loud but again I mainly experienced it while walking back to the room. On the flip side, I found the bed to be fantastic and really liked the convenience of Earl of Sandwich near the elevators being open 24hrs.

Agree with the others......I'm 40 and don't like it at all! I'd try Harrah's or Paris.
There's drop dead eye candy as the coupiers and dealers are wearing French maids outfits w/ garters and the tiniest of hot pants. I swear no one older than 23 all different versions of Holly Madison -- if you are on the casino floor in the mornings, it won't be so loud and crowded...lighting is way better at Paris/Bally's
72 isn't old (that old)-- he might like to view "the sights".
lots of walking involved no matter where you stay.
Keep the res- walk next door daily!

that said- I can handle anything and I hate it there- dark, loud and confusing.
I can NEVER get my bearings and I have an inate sense of direction...
Place makes me feel old and I'm a young healthy hip 55
im a creaky 58. i heart hard rock, though i had to ask directions repeatedly. If your dad is not capable of managing solo through the casino floor in most layouts, there's no really good answer. and low music is only available in off strip sites. Enjoy your time together. My dad and I only did LV once as a team. It rocked!

Yes.

That said, nobody's holding a gun to your head to make you gamble there if you're a guest in the hotel. If you prefer to stay there, you can always go to a different casino to play.
Thanks for all the input. I think the basic logic would be to sleep there, gamble in the mornings when it's not so "hopping" and walk the strip to all the other places he might prefer. The funny thing is that when I told him I posted this question, he was offended. He said "if you don't hate it, I won't hate it". LOL 3 weeks and we'll be there!!!! yippppeeeee
Have 4 nights at PH 12/10 - 14 2011 and do dread the Saturday night but will make do. I'm a 54 year old in a body with a 95 year old liver
