Is my 72 yr old dad going to hate P-Hollywood

As "Cat" responded your dad will much enjoy the eye candy at PHO. Give him a couple hundred bucks mid afternoon and play some BJ and he can stare at beautiful dealers and entertainers for the afternoon.

Damn, I hope the "peckers" children return an offer like this when I am older.
did you book 3 rooms comped on one players card? how did you manage to do that?
"did you book 3 rooms comped on one players card? how did you manage to do that?"

Karen, no, we all had comped rooms. My dad is much more of a high roller than my brother or I, but for whatever reason, I checked one day and P-Ho was offering comp rooms midweek in March. Ever since the day I booked it, that offer is not available anymore, so I think I just got lucky and hit it right when I needed to. We were previously booked for two nights comped and pay for one night at Ballys. IP still shows a comp for all three nights. My dad is not worried about the loudness...in fact, he was offended that I implied he was "old". LOL

I don't think age has anything to do with what casino you like. Hubby and I like the music/feel of PH, but our 2 son's in their 20's didn't care for the place. One like the Paris best while the other like Bill's the best (no accounting for taste LOL). Like others have said just because you stay at PH who says you have to play there, that is one good thing about multiple casinos having one card. Good luck.

Kohler,
I would think most of the Strip casinos in that area are going to be loud, confusing and congested.

For a "casino that he can find a little more peaceful action", maybe try Ellis Island.
It's behind PH on Koval Lane....... a short walk, but probably best to cab it for a 72 year old.
If you haven't been there, .......... it's a very small and quiet casino ....... Good food specials there too.

We just got back from Vegas, My daughter and SIL had a room at PH, me at Bally's. Found ourselves always playing at PH ( until they went to bed and I played on my own...played my way "home" thru Paris and Bally's) Their room was nice, we ALL found the casino a bit confusing.. Finally could do the Starbucks as a meeting place.. guess I didn't feel it was any louder and congested than others... but it was mid week.
I just got back from Vegas and have the following to report on Planet Hollywood as a 60 something.
1st I am a 6am to 10 pm person.

The casino was fine during that timeframe. I had a great time. Played slots all around the casino on a Thursday.

The room was ok.

The loud people in the hall several times during the nite were not.

My sleep was interupted several times and I will not be staying there again.

Hopefully your father is a deeper sleeper.

As another 60 plus, I enjoy PH, but also play early in the day and do not stay up late.

One very nice thing about PH is the convenience. Room elevators are near the casino and checkin areas (also the Diamond lounge), so not alot of walking like at Caesars. Plus the attached mall is convenient for things you nees/forgot or just to stroll around in.

We just got back from Vegas and spent last Saturday & Sunday nites at PH. As stated before, during the day the music isn't bad. It seemed that after 11 PM, they begin playing club music which is loud. That being said, we're in our mid 50's and didn't have a problem with it. We also had no problem with noise in the hallway at nite and slept just fine.
So....we just returned and my 72 year old dad didn't mind PH at all!!! we mainly gambled at other places during the night and returned to PH...but, I'd say that all the music is about the same everywhere. It wasn't that confusing either. much easier to navigate than the larger casinos. All in all, we would stay there again. and, yes, he enjoyed the "eye candy".
