It's been a while since I've booked CET rooms...

How does it work when you want to book a room just so you have a room, but then want to check later if other properties have opened up? For example, I can get a free room right now anywhere but Caesars (well, Caesars, but only in the Roman Tower) for my trip in September. My girlfriends really love staying at Caesars so I was hoping to take them there, and I hope to be Diamond by that point too so I'm sure somewhere down the road I should be able to get a better room than in the Roman Tower at Caesars.

But at the same time I want to make sure that I at least *have* a room... and Red Room Premier at Paris isn't too shabby. If I book the room at Paris, and then check later on for the same dates, won't it tell me that I already have a room booked for those dates, and not show me if I have any other comps?

Champster, I know you've been switching up your current reservations a lot, well, how do you see other comped properties once you have a reservation made for your desired dates?

Yes, it will tell you that you already have a room booked for those dates. I would hold off and check back occasionally to see what they are offering. I dont think you need to worry about not getting a comped room in September. It will be there.

I personally would book the Roman Tower and then upgrade it later in the year. We have never had to book Roman but have always been upgraded upon arrival to a higher tower class. If you have alot of play before then you should be able to get a higher class or even talk to a host to check your play.
The way that you can book but then keep checking the calendar is to log in and then just use the all vegas properties and the calendar/not exact dates. That way they do not know what dates you are searching for and it will put up all of the comps that are available. You will need to cancel the original when you want to re-book but at least you will be able to check.

As far as my current reservation situation...let me go back a few months. 1st...I always check Total rewards reservations and I dont look at offers but rather I look at the Monthly TR calendars for Las vegas and I check for the month in which I currently have a reservation. I do this because if I just search my current res dates then the dreaded " you have a reservation for these dates already" pops up. By doing the month thing I can see what offers are better in Vegas than my current 1. Once I found a better offer then I cancelled my current offer and went with the better offer.

With that process I went from 5 days at Quad (a lot of people said it was a dump after I booked)...to 5 days at Harrahs ("garage entrance exit was rough")...to 5 days at Rio ( "nice size rooms that were somewhat out dated".."ask for ipanema tower" Ms7777 was very helpful with the Rio).... to 5 days at Ballys (only South tower..not North)... to 5 days at Ceasars (Roman or Forum tower), over the" course of 2 months. Seriously. I'd do a monthly Vegas search...discover...cancel and book a new reservation each time.

You'll be glad to know that my offers improved dramatically once my play from my Jan trip to A. C. (Ballys and Showboat) kicked in. It took about 4-6 weeks after I returned but that's when the Paris and Ceasars offers began to appear. Your recent trip should reap some SERIOUS BENEFITS!!!
