Laughlin Temptation Temptation

We are going to Laughlin in a couple of weeks on a charter flight courtesy of Harrahs. How many of you rent a car and bug out to Vegas when taking this trip? If you do bug out, do you gamble at Harrahs properties while in Vegas?
I get comp rooms at harrahs in Laughlin but no package with a charter--- -----unfortunately there are no commercial or charter flites direct to Laughlin from philly----need to take a commercial flite to vegas then rent a car------happen to like harrahs Laughlin as well as rest of the casinos area along the river-------much more laid back than vegas----its what the town doesn't have that appeals to me----no,porn-pushers, panhandlers, muggers, prostitutes, druggies, hustlers, parking fees, excotic resort fees

having said that, to each his own----I am in the older generation having taken trips to vegas and surrounding areas like Laughlin and mesquite for 42 years-----

note your interest in renting a car to get to vegas and back---there are no rental agencies in Laughlin----you will need to rent a car at the airport which is in bullhead city-----suggest you do this when you land there ,rather than making a separate trip back after you check in at harrahs-----if memory serves me there are only 3 or 4 rental agencies and the time they are open is limited-------also remember to gas up in bullhead city as gas prices in Arizona are much cheaper than in nevada

I would recommend you request a room at harrahs with a river view, otherwise you will be looking out to what they call the mountain view ,while not bad ,the river view is nicer-----if you have a diamond card you will find a nice diamond lounge which has balcony seating and a river-view.

I do not play at any harrahs properties in vegas----I play full-pay video-poker and none of their vegas properties have any at the 25c or 50c level -----they do have a few machines in Laughlin----I basically take the comp room offers that I get from play at harrahs casinos in ac and play at other casinos in vegas and laughlin
Another way to get between LV and the Laughlin area (actually Bullhead City which is not far from Laughlin), is by taking a Greyhound Bus. I understand that there is a Greyhound station in Bullhead City and as for the LV Greyhound Bus Station, it is right next to Plaza Casino in Downtown LV. That could be less expensive if that is a concern.
I take the Laughlin Junket several times a year and there are usually 3 or 4 folks who rent a car and go to vegas and the surrounding area. The person who makes my reservation has even told me if I have some entertainment that I would like to see in vegas that I should rent a car and go there for a couple of nights.

American Airlines now flies daily to Laughlin/Bullhead City via Phoenix.
