Linked account

Does anyone have a TR account that is linked with their spouse? I know our mlife accounts are linked but I hadn't heard of linking TR accounts until hubby's host mentioned something about it earlier this month. If anyone has their account linked, what are the benefits?
My wife just plays on my card, my daughter always gives her and her boyfriends card number when booking a hotel, and it always helps to get cheaper or free rooms. Not sure if this helps.
My husband and I used ti have associated accounts. Then we ran into problems trying to book comped rooms. Since we usually stay 6 or 7 nights, he could always get 5 nights comped. Then when I tried to booked the other two nights (not on the weekend), I would get a message that there was already a reservation, so no comped room. He was Diamond, I was platinum.

So since that time, we are no longer linked.

Thanks. I made diamond aspiration level one last month and hubby is a diamond. I wondered what the benefits where, such as TC's earned combining to get to a higher level. I take more trips to Vegas each year than he does so I'm not sure both of us playing on my card would help that much. We normally only stay 4 nights, 5 max, I get 4 nights and a $100 folio credit with aspiration level 1. I guess I'll talk to our host on our next trip to see what the benefits are.

Linked accounts allow you to combine GGWU points for both accounts even if both of you aren't there. Other than that haven't seen any benefits. Some states (MO for one) do not allow linked accounts in their state. Wife is Platinum and we book our reservations separately with no problems.
Thanks SandyPaws. That may be exactly why she mentioned that since I was there GGWU weekend. If I'd had access to his points I would have had close to 80,000 points as opposed to the 40,000 I had. Since this is the first time I've ever been for GGWU and I really don't foresee doing it again, it probably isn't worth it.
I have been to GGWU several times and have to admit I was disappointed with what was available this year. Previously I had gone to the Dec GGWU but this year went to the first in November. Not sure if that made a difference of selections. Ended up just exchanging my GGWU points for freeplay coupons this year.
How do you even link accounts for GGWU point purposes? I see that the GGWU FAQs state that "associated account" holders may share GGWU points without having to be present at the GG event?
Associated accounts can use each others points both at the GGWU and reward credits. If Player A used all of his/her reward credits, that person could then tap into the associated account.

It does not mean you "share" an account--you still have a separate card, with separate account numbers.

Those are a couple of the good things about having linked account. However the bad will outweigh those. You'll get 1/2 as many mail offers and half the room nights when booking online to name a few.
