Linq Stay Sept 5-8

My first visit back to Vegas in five years and first back to the Linq since it changed from IP to Quad as I was getting better offers from the MGM Group. I got the Caesars rewards credit card and got bumped from Gold to Platinum and that got me great rates (Sun $45, Mon-Wed $ 8.50 a night).
The remodel on the rooms make them look nice, my mattress was a brick and I had a partial strip view with a nice view of the Linq Zipline platform. The bathroom was nice, huge Moen showerhead with the usual IP water pressure a notch above a trickle.

I guess whomever did the room designs thought it a good idea to spend big money on Moen fixtures but not have a grab bar when moving from shower to slippery tile floor. They do provide a small towel to put on the floor, but you have to wet it a little to keep it from sliding all over the place when you step on it.

There is a sticker on the wall by the sink saying to call house keeping for a rubber bath mat and a couple other items. I tried calling a couple different times to get a mat, but it rang 4 or 5 times and went to elevator music hold saying someone will be right with me but never did, so I gave up.

Sounds a bit over priced at $8.50 a night.

Hope you had some fun anyway.

The IP/Linq is a very old property. It was apparently designed by a drunken clown who wanted to create a giant mouse maze instead of a casino/hotel. The layouts of the casino, the hotel, even the parking garage are insane. They've remodeled, sure, but the funhouse features remain. And, as Matt confirms, they've never remodeled the guts of the place--the infrastructure.

The primary benefit of the Linq is its convenient location right near all the other places where you can get ripped off. Aside from that, the Linq stinqs.

What does "Linq" mean?

The Linq did one nice upgrade, a couple years ago they upgraded the elevators, what used to be a long wait for the elevators is now a mere couple minutes. The only thumbs down is for the need to tap your room card on the button panel to be able to select your floor, a nice security feature say at Bellagio, Wynn and the other classy places, but it's the IP for goodness sakes. No one with a Seven Stars card is surely staying at the IP !!

I think "Linq stinqs" is supposed to be "Linq Stinks", as for what Linq means, no idea, it is an improvement from the previous name of "The Quad".
