Major Expansion Planned for Ak-Chin

According to the Phoenix Business Journal, "Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino in Maricopa will see a new build out next spring. That includes 200 new hotel rooms, a new spa, conference center and ballrooms space and some new restaurants." . . . "The $100 million-plus expansion comes at the Tohono O’odham Nation is building a new casino in the West Valley near University of Phoenix Stadium and on the heels of new business and tourism ventures by the Gila River Indian Community and Salt River Pima Maricopa Indian Community."

I now wonder if they really read my comments as to why I rated the property at Talking Stick superior to Ak-Chin.

Glad to hear they are expanding. Last time I was there the place was packed.

Hopefully the pool and casino floor will also receive expansions. We do enjoy our stops there.

No mention of expanding the casino floor which is always over crowded. If they add so many more rooms without adding more gaming we will need to stop going! A spa is a great addition!
