MGM Resorts to Replace Bartenders With Machines (No, Really)

Google Vital Vegas for the story. As much as I decry the loss of jobs, bartenders and their thieving ways have had much to do with this type of innovation.

Why do you hate bartenders?

I don't hate bartenders, just thieves.

Just curious; do you think a lot of them steal? Most? If so, are you referring to straight cash grabs, giving free drinks to friends, or what? Finally, what leads you to this conclusion?

I'm not a bartender and have no dog in the fight. Just curious since I don't remember hearing this opinion before.

I have been dealing with bartenders for over 40 years. They do their underhanded thieving ways strickly for tips - or to impress someone - at the cost of the business. I have never met a 100% honest bartender. Draw your own conclusions, I, for one, know what the reality is.

There was a bar in Vegas that had a self-serve beer tap console.   You swiped a card and poured beer into your glass.   Sorta like a gas pump.     It was on that TV show Bar Rescue.   I think its closed now.

I think there's lots more of this kinda thing to come.     Society is going to be "interesting" 30 years from now.    I think there's going to be a helluva lot more people than there are jobs.

Robot bar keeps and a rating system is to lower casino expenses.

Dishonest bartenders won't last long.

also a benefit to the customer------no more tipping,if expanded from service bars to the main floor----
