my take on Hooters

stayed in Hooters for 4 nights in June. The $20 trick worked with the check-in clerk and I got an Oceanview tower room. Although you can hear the people in the next room, my room (1934) was clean, good size, with a very comfortable bed. Mattress was a little firm, which my back loves. I would put the room at a level of a well-managed motel 6. Maid came every day, changed the towels and I could tell the floor had been vaccumed at least once. The hot dog cafe was not open while I was there but Hooters resturant and Mad Onion were generally busy. I liked Mad Onion; good food, large portions and attentive service. Hooters Restaurant was not so good. I had a coupon for free wings and it tasted like someone badly needed to change the oil they were fried in. I sent them back and kept the free beer. Several families were eating there and the food did appear to come out in a decent time. Slots weren't that busy but the table games always had a crowd. Dealers were friendly and helpful. Valet was always helpful with directions and general information. If you're looking for high-end service you probably won't like Hooters, but if you want just a decent room, cheap fun table games and decent food I would recommend it. I felt very safe there.
thanks for the review. i, too have posted some ideas, as in, the west tower at circus circus, for others to consider as viable and cheap lodging, and some occasions have literally paid off for me. If you dont mind, and I wont mind if you're private on the matter, did you use a website or other public avenue to reserve the room? Good Luck!

I was wondering the same thing? Did you mean to say Strip view room?

At least a Hooters thread woke ya up Dick. Nice to see you on the boards again.

naw, seriously, they said Oceanview and the sign to the elevator said the same thing.........odd cause all you could see out my window was the parking lot, but , hey, somebody has a good imagination!

I love that idea of just random names for hotel towers; Vegas club should change from North and South tower to something like "Grand Sierra View" and "Tropical Island View". Much more appealing
or "Harbor side" and "Pizza Tower"
Thanks for keeping us abreast of Hooters.

I wonder if this is some kind of reference to being near the Flamingo Wash which could become like an Ocean when the Flashfloods come through (which is why it's not a great idea to park in the Imperial Palace Parking Garage at least during the times when flooding is more likely)! ;-)
