Need playing strategy for Platinum 2014

I am a video poker player and a blackjack player who knows basic strategy. I want to get Platinum level for occasional free and discounted rooms mid week and to avoid resort fees for 2014. Can anyone suggest which games, denominations or a low risk strategy to get to platinum with smart play. thanks in advance.

I don't think blackjack is going to get you the points you will need. I have never gotten much in tier points from table games. They can tell you in poker room the tier points you get hourly but not at other tables.

It seems to me that Caesars favors slot play over video poker or blackjack. Probably because video poker and blackjack both have lower casino advantages. My advice is to play what you like and let the comps fall where they may. I did this on my last trip playing craps. I am 1/2 way to Platinum after one trip. I hope to make it on my next trip.

I got there by planning $1 VP. I happened to find a machine that was hitting 4 ok and racked up a lot of pts. I also found a slot that was paying out which is unusual. When you find the right vp or slot you just have to go for it. I also got the credit card and realized that Platinum status is only good through 3/14 and being only 1200 pts away i would put some effort into getting those points. Good luck.

Play heavy on some days to get your bonus points I made it by shorting some days and then getting 500 pts on others to get that 125 bonus tier credit. If you can get 1,000 pt ( I don't play that big) but if you do your bonus pts are I think 500 .

I played mainly quarter vp , nickel and dime ultimate x and penny 100 play .

When does the earning year end? If I have 3800 tier points now, do I have until March 2014 to get to 5000 and Platinum? I'm thinking that earning 500 tier points in 1 day plus the tier bonus (1000 points?) would get me to Platinum for 2014. is that correct?

Your tier points reset on Jan. 1. ... Single-day play of 500 points will earn you 125 points so it would take two 500-point play days by next Tuesday. A 1,000-point day equals 1,000 bonus tier points and 2,500-point day leads to 5,000 bonus tier points.
