Thought I'd post about a new benefit for diamond/7 stars at Harrahs STL. New benefits are far and few between, but I really liked this one.
Had a reservation for Thursday night for a comped room as I was working in STL on Thursday and Friday. I rec'd a call a few days before and the gal asked me if I was interested in the new curbside check-in. I said sure, so she asked what time I would arrive (4pm) and she said they would call me prior to that.
Thursday morning, she called my cell and confirmed the room type I wanted and what time I would arrive. I will mention that even though I have lots of comped rooms there, I've been staying in the business hotels recently as Harrahs STL has pissed me off not having my room ready until after 6pm, and also not having my room type (NO ADJOINING DOOR!) available. It's just not worth the hassle of getting there and having to wait or the pain of not getting my room type.
Anyway, the gal gave me a cell phone number to call when I was 5 minutes away. I did call when I was pulling into the property and she said she would meet me in the lobby with my keys. And she did.... with keys to the exact type of room I requested. No paperwork, no signature, just handed me the keys. Wow. She also asked if she could make dinner reservations for me, but I declined.
Since I'm diamond, I don't usually have a long wait in line, but this service is fantastic for me if they are really going to have the room ready AND its the right room. Nice after working all day to just walk in from diamond parking, be handed my keys, and in my room in one minute.
Good for CET to offer a benefit which is a really nice perk, but really doesn't cost them anything.
