New TR Tier levels in effect Jan 1

SO! Just in case CET is "testing" the
waters and "leaking" the higher
tier requirements--I'm going to put
my 2 cents in also. 15,000 for Diamond
is NOT worth it. . . . Hubby and I
won't be headed that direction next year.
If our play doesn't "add up" to Diamond
by the end of the year--so be it. There's
other places to play to offer us free play,
headliners AND a free room anytime we want
in Vegas. It's not a hard choice. . . .
Yep - same response that I got - not much but leaning toward the changes IMO. It can't hurt to have us writing to them about it though.
I sent an email to Harrahs yesterday and advised even though I already have more than the 15,000 tier credits and have been a diamond for about 6 years I still would be looking to decrease my play at Harrahs properties if the new tier levels took effect. I received an email back that my email was forwarded to someone and I would be received a response tomorrow. I will keep everyone posted with their response.
Those tier 'programs', all of them, all properties, are sucker plays anyway. They suck us in with the little perks (speedy check-in, mediocre lounges), upping the ante little by little hoping we won't notice.

I was only Diamond for a year and in December I will be making my first trip to LV since being downgraded to Platinum. My first time in two years NOT staying at Caesars. No access to my favorite Diamond Lounge. Fighting the masses at Valets throughout the system. I got used to the perks pretty quickly. Now I probably will struggle to keep Platinum next year, unless the slots are loose when I am there and I can play some of their money!
I too sent an email to Caesar's asking about the tier level increases. I received the following:

The Tier Requirements are set by the corporate partners rather than by the individual properties and at this time we have not received official word about changes to the Total Rewards program, but they do review the program each year and changes are quite possible. If there are going to be changes for 2013 I would expect the information to come out within the next few weeks. We, like you, will keep an eye out for e-mails or information on the www.TotalRewards.com website for more information as it becomes availableTextText

Key phrase: "changes are quite possible".
This is what I received from Harrahs when questioned them in regard to tier increases. It appears
that there are no changes forthcoming as I believe my email was fully researched before getting this response.

Mr. Anderson, my name is Brian Lemon and I am the Director of Casino Marketing for Horseshoe and Harrah's in Council Bluffs. I am writing in response to the communication you sent about tier level increases.

We are always looking for ways to enhance our Total Rewards Program but to this point there are no changes scheduled for 2013. If anything is ever changed, a communication will go out to all of our players explaining the changes, benefits and timeframes for the changes. Right now we have not had any commuincation for this happening in 2013.

At this point this is what I know so I hope this helps bring you back to see us when you can. We appreciate your business very much and we look forward to continuing to earn that business in the near future.

Sincerely,

Brian Lemon
I just wanted to let you guys know that i was talking to VIP services (a host?) about my upcoming overnight in Laughlin and had an opportunity to ask about the rumored changes to tier status requirements. She said that it was news to her and that she had heard nothing about it. I sure hope that this turns out to be a terrible rumor and will keep fingers crossed. I will be making a point to ask when I get to Bally's next week too.
I was at the RIO last weekend (12/8)
Neither the Total Reward desk nor the host had heard anything
about the tiers going up. THEY HAD NO INFORMATION AT ALL...
Hey GregRIO (OK now I get it We stayed at Bally's last week-end but spent most of our day at Rio - including a second trip over there for Penn and Teller - fun place!! I did not even bother to ask about the tier requirements cause nobody seems to know the answer!
