New TR Visa

Did anyone catch the @total_rewards tweet about the new TR Visa? It looks like they changed the bank providing it, from Bank of America to Comentity Bank (?). It pretty much looks like the over all rewards are the same, a point for a dollar, though you get multiples for certain purchases. Plus you get up to 10000 bonus points if you hit certain dollar amounts to start.

But two new things I noticed is automatic Platinum status for a year when you sign up, and two free Buffet of Buffet passes. Interesting.

Thanks for the info. To bad they couldn't have offered this a month earlier so you could have transitioned from the old card to the new without a gap in between.

It's nice they offering some sign on benefits. I wonder what the time frame will be before they remove the offers?

Wow - thanks for that link Siwst852 - it looks like the new bank is one of those that issues the store credit cards and not very reliable. I will have to really consider whether I want to deal with them before I apply for the card.

Does anyone know how long the offers are extended if you sign up for the new credit card (bonus points, free world pass, etc.)? I just called Caesar's and was referred to 1-855-381-5715 (5712) and was told two weeks from the date of the e-mail. I don't know if they had the right information since he didn't seem to know what I was talking about without an offer number.
