Norwegian Cruise Line Offer

I've gotten these offers in the past and once redeemed the certificate but wound up never using it.

An offer just popped in my account for this promo while I am in Vegas. I'll have to check out for the Poker Tournament and then check back in to take advantage of this offer.

I was curious what fees are associated with using the certificates, whether you can give them to someone else, etc. and any other general information you believe would be helpful.

I would have done a search but it appears the search function still has issues.

Thanks in advance for any comments.
Funny you ask, because I am all stressed out right now figuring out how to use mine this year! It can be a pretty good deal, but as all of the cruises we qualify for are from the east coast the costs are adding up fast. We did one last year from NOLA (which I would highly recommend BTW) and paid port fees, taxes and then the upgrade from interior to a balcony. Prob came to around $500. each all in. Pretty sure they are not transferable.
Thanks for the info. Seems like a waste not to pick it up, even if I wind up not using it. I believe you have a year to use it but I picked up one before the year came and was gone and the certificate expired, even with them calling to give me a few extra months to use it.
FF-
I picked up a cruise Cert. for a few years in a row before I finally used one, last March out of NOLA.
Loved it. I luv cruising anyway.........so paying port charges, is no biggie.
What CAN be the big expense, is getting to the Port, Like NOLA. We had a LONG flight.........and
wasn't cheap. But still worth the trip.

Kept waiting for a Cruise cert. last year? And NONE ever came.......even though I played more,
plus played alot on the cruise. Doesn't seem to make any difference.
Thats been my CE tune this past year. Ain't been pretty as far as offers go. CE is on my sh$t list.
Hoping a 2,500 tier day or 2 can make the difference, but I'm not holding my breath. sigh.

Glad you got an offer. At least someone is.

I might be mistaken but NOLA has got to be one of the best ports in the states and we were all set to book for Nov of this year when we got the call the other day about our first grandchild being born this fall! So guess what we will be doing instead of a cruise...?
I really cannot get worked up about cruising out of Miami earlier in the year so we are prob going to pass on it. As we all know, CET is a fickle mistress so who knows if we will ever get another? Oh well, I will just have to be content with a grandkid!!!
They are non transferable....we just did ours out of NO in December....we upgraded to a balcony....and it is a great deal if you love cruising.

Even with our rt air from Ohio and our port taxes....we still know it was a great deal. NCL has it down pretty pat, treat you with extra amenities....and the casino knows who you are. There were several certificate owners on....

Hope it works our for you.

Thanks everyone for the comments. I think I will take advantage of this offer.
We took advantage of a cruise to
alaska. I had been on two cruises before, at least 25 years ago. "Modern" cruising sucks, big time. To eat in the steakhou8se, there was a $25 upcharge per person. Open table seating may sound good, but 3/4 of the passengers all want to dine at 7 pm.
There were plenty of optional land adventures, but all were pricey. I felt that we spent enough money on airfare and port charges.

"Old" crusing included all of the gourmet food with the same menu for everyone. There were more options for on ship activities.

If airefare is reasonable and you like the destinations, go for it.

Thanks Joy for the comments. EHolmes, I would call the company to see about getting an extension. I clearly remember getting calls about a month before my certificate expired letting me that it was soon going to expire and offering to extend the time. You should give them a call now to see if you can do that.
I gor a certifivate also. Wondered about how the arrangements are handled. Do you get a specific Travel Agency that you work with? Bob
