Now that CET has resort fees.........

....Do those who recieve comped rooms have to pay a resort fee? Does the resort fee also apply to casinos in A. C.(had planned on being at Harrahs A. C. in May)?? Ohio casinos (I'm already booked at the Cleveland Horseshoe March 20th)???
I believe these only apply to Las Vegas casinos.
AC is struggling enough without another negative.

If they charge them on comped rooms, I won't be staying at any of their properties any longer.
I think it's just a Nevada thing for now.

As for charges on comped rooms, that's the $64 million question that I don't think anyone has seen a definitive answer to. My instict says "no", but take that for the grain of salt it's worth.

We have not been charged the fees at either Wynn or HRH when staying comped and I don't think Mlife charges them either so hoping not. It has been a mystery to me though, why they do not charge the fees for comped stays - but not complaining!
Also - I booked yesterday for an April offer and no mention of the resort fee.
I read somewhere the fee goes into effect for rooms booked after March 1. Someone on one of these threads said it would be waived for diamond members.
The article I read says that CET customers "Demanded them!" Show of hands??

I'm guessing those are the same customers who demanded getting rid of playable video poker at less than the $5 denomination in LV. I used to be a Diamond player, but haven't dropped a quarter in their casinos in years now. I have stayed at Bally's to take advantage of the $35 rates.
I read that for now it would be Vegas and Lake Tahoe casinos only. I am not sure if that includes Harrah's Reno or not. "The customer's demanded" is of course a joke. Do the suits really think we are that dumb? Anyhow since I am adverse to paying resort fees I only shopped CET when staying on the Strip. I guess now I can give some business to Mlife and others. At least at some of those resorts you get a free newspaper and bottles of water when being ripped-off for resort fees. I can use the newspaper and the bottle of water. Who the hell needs to make free local calls? Does anyone not have a cell phone. I am 69 years old and I have a cell phone. CET will be saved if they waive the resort fee if the room is comped because I never pay for a CET room.
I actually sat next to one of the people who demanded this on my last flight to Vegas.
He was on his way to the World of Concrete Expo and explained how he used to stay at Paris but now stayed at MGM . Why the switch?
Because MGM had Resort fees and Paris didn't. His company had no problem paying MGMs resort fees but balked at picking up the seperate fee Paris charged for the gym and for wi-fi. He'd be out of pocket some $100 for the trip if he stayed where he wanted.
I have no idea if all or even many business travelers encountered this but if they did, Harrahs claim of demand for resort fees might make sense.
