Now that CET has resort fees.........

There is not any resort fee that makes sense.
Bilkryan, thanks for sharing that perspective.
It would be nice if you could avoid the fees if you don't use any of the services. I don't make local calls, use WiFi or use the Spa so it's not fair to have to pay for the stuff you don't use. I will be at Caesars in April so will find out what I have to pay. 5 nights comped, 2 nights paying and I'm Diamond so maybe that will get me out of paying the fees.
Soonermom, someone posted there's no resort fee on reservations made prior to March 1. Someone else posted it is waived for diamond members.

we get comped rooms at all the CET casinos we stay at including Cleveland and still have to pay a non waved fee when we are in AC - something about a city hotel tax they have told us before that they can't get rid of it. Anyone else experience this in AC?

I don't.

I'm one of the less than 1% of the U.S. population that does not have a cell phone. I don't really have a major need for one.

Does this mean they will do away with the stupid early check-in fee?
I just spoke with someone in reservations and they said the Resort Fee will be charged on comped rooms. I guess I best book my August and October rooms now.

Yes, Atlantic City has a city hotel tax that is charged on comped rooms. Per a couple threads in the East Coast section, people mentioned the amount varies and CET charges more than the other places.

Having said that, we attended a family function in the greater AC area last Oct and had a very nice room at Caesars. To get the comped room for 4 nights over a weekend, we did the companion thing. The $52 or $54 we paid for these fees were a heck of a lot less expensive than any room we could have gotten elsewhere.

edited to ad, sometimes you need to look at the TOTAL value.
Station properties have a high resort fee that is NOT waived on comped rooms. They will still charge you the $25 (or so). You can refuse it, like I did, but then you are told that you will be charged for Wi-Fi and/or Spa should you choose to use them. I still refused it and had a free stay.
