Ordering Drinks from slots and VP machines

While In AC, Bally's made you order your drinks from they keypad on the machine. I don't know how widespread this is through Caesars but I noticed it really did slow down service and they were charging various prices for different drinks.

Bud Light bottles were $1 and various cocktails were free up to $3. The waitresses I talked to didn't like the system because it limited them to service a total of 5 drinks at a time and didn't allow any rapport with the customer.

One quirk they told me about in the system was on cocktails in particular. A coconut rum and pineapple was free but a Malibu and pineapple was $2. The waitress said they came out of the same gun.

Is this system widespread in Las Vegas? I usually play my VP at the bar but the pay tables in AC forced me onto the floor
Wow, and here I thought that drinks were free in AC.

They use the same system at Horseshoe Hammond except that drinks are more expensive. No comped drinks in Hoosierville.

Harrahs Rincon has had the "Total Touch" system in place for a couple of years now. It's an Indian owned casino so drinks containing alcohol are not free. I find at Rincon sometimes it's faster to order from the keypad than to try and snag a beverage person. My problem is I don't want ice added to some drinks I order but there isn't that option.

All the free play offers are processed through the keypad, no coupons to put in the machine. You get a code for the offer and after entering your pin number, and selecting some thing like use offer, you then enter your offer code. It does allow you to select the amount you want to play on that particular machine, so unlike the coupons you can just use some of your offer in one machine and some in another machine until you've used the total amount of the offer. It sure didn't work too great the first few months and even now I sometimes have problems which means a trip to the TR booth so they can reset or unlock something(system problem, not my error). I personally miss the coupons, I had less problems with them. I've helped many people use the system whereas most of them wouldn't have had a problem with the coupons. I've had an offer for a room stay and my birthday reward credit points appear on the screen.

I had asked the TR manager if they were going to go system wide with "Total Touch" and was told they were using the Indian owned casinos for testing and if it worked, would eventually make it system wide. This was over a year ago, so not sure if that's still the plan.
Ak-Chin also uses "Total Touch." It took a bit to get used to. Now, I like it better than the old system.

Took me 45 minutes to get a beer at Bally's in AC. Didn't see anything indicating charges for drinks though.
At this point, they do not use this system in Las Vegas.

It works great -- and FAST -- in New Orleans.
My only complaint is that you can only order one item at a time. I usually like a bottle of water with my order.
But most of the CW's carry extra waters, so it usually works out fine.
at Bally's AC yes- never heard of charging though...

At Showboat, a girl/woman comes by and blackberrys your order and a waitress comes by w/ them minutes later- way cool.
Must be how I roll OR NOT that causes the charges.
"a girl/woman comes by and blackberrys your order and a waitress comes by w/ them minutes later- way cool.
"

Thanks JM, a girl/woman and or a waitress in a tiny cocktail dress bringing free drinks (that cost hundreds of dollars) that's all I need from a casino. I don't really care if the vp is 99.96 or 99.97.
