Playing for comps in late December

I just booked an unexpected business trip to LV for the week before Christmas.
I will have a couple days to play. I can play anywhere. My next LV trip is planned for June.
I know the TR tier credits expire Dec 31. I am platinum but not committed to getting to diamond.
My Mlife status is at zero.

Question: Is playing at CET properties wasted for comps?
it depends. right now CET is having a promotion for every 500 tier credits you make they give you 50 tier credits for 2016 and if they have your email they give you 100. It also includes if you make the extra tiers (500, 1000, 2500). it all depends on what you want to get from them. it will start you off with some points next year. not sure if it's worth it though.
IMO, that promotion for tier credits, 50 for 500 play, is lame.

However, my belief is that CET looks for consistency of play through time, so even if you don't strive for Diamond during your trip, your play in December will help keep you on the comp radar at the level of comps you receive now, if this makes any sense.
Yes that does make sense.

Thank You

Totally agree with Candy, they seem to like consistent play.
Average Daily Theoretical is the single-most important factor determining future comps.
I agree, ADT, is all that matters to CET. I got way more and better comps as a diamond playing often than as a seven star with infrequent play
You are still earning RCs that carry over even though your tier pts are reset at the end of the year.
Just thought I would share the conclusion:

CANDY WAS 100% RIGHT

I stayed a couple of extra days. I never realized that the week before Christmas could be a good time to visit.

1. I renewed a credit line at Flamingo and played 4 hours of my usual play.
Today. I checked on line trying to book offers for late May and June. There are free room offers at all the CRT properties except Caesars (which I didn't expect anyway).

2. The Good: I decided to try the same thing at Venetian. I haven't been comped there in at least 5 years.
I got a call from a host and just booked a 6 day trip. 2 nights comped, 2 nights at $129, Friday and Sat. at $159.

3. The Bad: I did the same thing at Treasure Island, called and spoke to a host. Nothing. Waste of time.

4.The UGLY. Golden Nugget has let me down., I played 8.5 hrs., confirmed this with a host, who told me she could not offer me a comped room because my avg. bet was too low. What?? I was comped last year for the same level of bet. All she could say was sorry.

What I have learned is that GN has changed the way they calculate avg bet.for my game. The host didn't know that,

Anyway, Hello total rewards, goodbye Mlife, Ven, see you next time.

Thank you Candy.
Glad it worked out for you, ProfBac.

I believe MGM sold TI off sometime ago.
