Possible Flamingo Stay

Hey y'all (fiance

Never beem to Vegas before, but fiance wans to go so we can get married. For some reason, I have a soft spot for the Flamingo.  While I try to NOT pay attention to negative reviews, IMHO, the Flamingo seems to have received more than its fair share; everything rom don't touch anything when it comes to the e;evators and with so many oprions on/of the Strip, wgy stay there.  What's everyone else's opinion on this>

Also having a dilemma regarding their suites (fiance WANTS a suite); especially the Go Mini, Royal or Neopolitan.  Any suggestiond on these or on another "reasonably" priced suite.

Thanks

Flamingo has one of the best wedding venues, especially if you go in nice weather.  It has been at least 5 years since I was there but their "back yard" is lovely, two wedding chapels--an 'inside' type chapel and one that is more open to the elements, though both are "outside" in the back of the property.  They used to have live flamingos walking around but not sure they are still there.

Flamingo developed a reputation as a place for old folks, but that isn't necessarily so.  There is a new steakhouse which I can't think of the name right now but I believe "Bugsy" is in the name.  There was a good review of it here recently.  Plus the location of the property is ideal.  Try their web site, see if they have pictures.  Sign up on the web site, if that's possible, since you've never been there.  Might benefit you in some way when you go to make reservations.

I never stayed at Flamingo, so can't give an accounting of the rooms or suites.  Try the web site, see if they have pictures.  As for suites, I've found that (elsewhere) for just the two of us we don't need a gargantuan suite, but that's your business, and once in a lifetime will be remembered.  Maybe just having a high floor and a great Strip view would be enough if price of suites is crazy.  Talk to someone there about what they have available.  Remember, happy wife, happy life.  Good luck.

I Highly recomend the Flamingo Wedding Venue

Wife and I renewed our Wedding Vows on 12-12-12 I Booked thru the wedding chapel and they Handled everything . Music , PHOTOS , Wedding Officiator , We Stayed in a Go-Suite High Floor overlooking the Bellagio Fountains . We even Bought a Commerorative Brick for the occassion that is by the pool

Give the wedding Chapel a Call I thinkyou will be Highly surprized

Although we usually stay at Paris I have spent some time at the craps tables at Flamingo and have found their dealers to be top notch and I enjoy sitting at Bugsby's Bar for people watching while playing video poker.

I have not been to their pool but from what I hear and have read if sounds like a party atmosphere.

Never stayed at the Flamingo but have gambled in the casino. I usually stay in the Paris or Bally's.

Here is a video that you may want to check out from a Las Vegas blogger of his stay at the Flamingo. Hoep this helps.

1.The location is ideal.

2. It's a Strip casino, so the gambing is awful and the limits are high.

3. It's a CET casino, so the gambing is awful and the limits are high.

4. The food is pretty good, and pretty high-priced.

5. I can't speak to how good or bad a place it is to get married.

IMHO the Center Strip is Ripoff City, but the Flaming O is the best place to be if you just gotta gotta be there. I realize that someone who's never been to Vegas may be fascinated by the Strip, and Flamingo and LV Blvd is like Times Square or Hollywood Boulevard. The second time you go, you should use this location's proximity to transit as a method to explore the rest of Vegas. The third time you go--well, there really shouldn't be a third time.

Hi,,

I know it must seem like I'm all over the place but Vegas confuses the s&%t out of me.  What do y'all think of the HGV at the Flamingo as an alternative? All insights will be greatly aopreciated.

Thanks

mlhewing....you do not mention what time of year you are planning to be in Vegas or how many friends/relatives are likely to come for your wedding. How many nights are you staying? Will you be flying in or can you drive to Vegas?

All these questions are relative due to the most cost effective location to stay at.

Mid strip, where the Flamingo is,  is quite expensive (Paris, Bellagio, Cosmo, Aria, Caesars etc) whereas end strip (Mandalay, Luxor, South Point etc) or Fremont (The D, El Cortez, Golden Nugget etc) area offer special low rates....something you may want to consider if you have guests coming to the wedding.

As this will be your first trip to Vegas it will be like "candyland". Hotels will appear bigger and brighter than they seem on TV or films and the heat in Vegas can be unbearable sometimes if you plan on walking to "see the sights". BUT whatever hotel you choose I'm sure you will have a great time as the hotels tend to treat wedding parties really well.

Keep safe & good luck

No. Look back at your first posting.  You have a soft spot for the Flamingo.  Your fiance has told you she wants a suite.   Didn't you read Thomas Schulz's post?  He has been there and done it.  Flamingo is mid-Strip, classic Vegas.  This is your wedding.  Don't cheap out on her.  Call now, "Flamingo, Go-Suite, High Floor, overlooking the Bellagio Fountains."  Get it set up now and stop worrying.

And arrange Limo pickup at the airport.  The driver meets you at the bottom of the escalator holding a sign with your last name on it.  She will love you for that alone.  Don't tell her, let that be a surprise.

Do not have a big bunch of family/friends, as that will just make it all more stressful.

Thanks for the shout out .It Has changed since I was there Im Sure almost 9 years ago  But there impression is still there . Great call on the Limo , MHLEWING should call around and tell the people you are getting married and what do they offer . Also Got a great deal at the Stratosphere Top of the Strat Restaurant by doing so.
