Problem at the TI

You're certainly free to think that way. Tom does have a very, very unique way of looking at the world and the people in it (which I've discerned from his posts elsewhere), but I would consider his and his wife's reactions to the incident he described at the TI inadvisable on anyone's part.

We're all annoyed from time to time. Escalating that to full-blown outrage and seething about it for weeks is counterproductive. And I fully recognize that we all have our "hot buttons" that make us overreact and ultimately, harm ourselves in the process.

I also wish to reiterate that Vegas, being a very, very busy place with high visitation and people coming from all over the world, is much more likely to be a place where your hot buttons get pushed than almost any other destination you could choose. If you're easily insulted/annoyed/outraged by other people's actions, then perhaps it's not such a good idea to travel to a place where so much of people's behavior is insulting, annoying, or outrageous. Hell, that's practically the city's brand.

I believe that Tom did not have any idea of how his commenting about an event that happened to him and his wife would become so contentious and debated. I guess he should of posted a video of this event in order for some to give his comment credence.

I have a radical way to prevent a personal experience being discussed and debated: I don't post it on an internet forum. Therefore, if I do post such an experience, I'm prepared for it to be discussed. Simple!

Also, a vanishingly tiny proportion of persons' accounts of their experiences are completely accurate, especially if their own behavior was involved. People tend to modify their own memories of what they did, until those edited memories are all they have and they now believe that's how things actually went.

I don't really understand what Tom wishes us to do here. Sympathize? Commiserate? Burn down Treasure Island? Support the Death To Panhandlers Act? Personally, I can't really help him by swearing that I'll never darken TI's doorstep ever ever again, because I haven't been there more than twice in my life, and the last time was at least five years ago.

The psychopathic narcissist creates and maintains his or her own version of reality, seen and interpreted through the warped and distorted lens of pathological self-centeredness and self-deception.

Well you didn't need to weigh in to begin with, your comments appeared to try and belittle the original poster. And your feeble attempt to explain your reasoning made it obvious of your contempt for him, next time try to follow the adage to remain silent and be thought a fool then to speak and be confirmed as one

How relevant is Donald Trump to this thread?

Roger, I know what your politics and worldview are. They differ from my own. Yet, I wouldn't dream of telling you to not share your opinion.

Toxic kevin claims to know exactly what happened even though he was not a witness to the incident,  He admits to never going on the strip or even recently been to the TI.

Anyway rather than panhandling off of people who work for a living why don't these people get one of the millions of open jobs that are presently available in the country.  These establishments have resorted to having signs in the window saying they have jobs.

Tom, I know you have a habit of putting words in other people's mouths and then attacking them for what they never actually said. I never said that I know exactly what happened to you. And I didn't "admit" to anything re my Strip visitation. The problem you encountered happens everywhere in Vegas (or at least, the touristed areas), so the specific location is irelevant. I don't go to the Strip much, but I do visit every now and then.

The fact that you're willing to distort the truth about what I said, together with the disparaging way you describe panhandlers in general and the one you encountered in particular, gives me reason to doubt the accuracy of your narrative. But certainly, it could have gone down exactly as you said. We'll never know.

In any event, I think you should get over it. But that's your call.

I've been visiting Las Vegas at least twice a year for over 40 years and do not recall ever being asked for money from anyone inside a casino, your statement that it is an extremely common occurrence is just not accurate, on the contrary, if casino management were to witness anyone panhandling or harassing patrons,  I believe they would be escorted off the premises.
