Pros / Cons and value tenets at Treasure Island vs other Strip options

On a relative / comparative basis among Strip properties, Treasure Island still provides a bit of value among all the options. They still offer free parking (self and valet, sans gratuity for the latter), one of those visitor perks that has all but disappeared on the Strip.

Hotel : They routinely run room offers, currently including a BOGO free night offer and their long-standing no-resort-fee TV ad special offer ( the standard resort fee is $41 per night, which adds appeal to this latter offer). Most of the rooms have an in-room fridge for guests free of charge. That has value. The rooms are dated and non-modern, but they've always been clean and many rooms offer a decent north and/ or south Strip view for those interested in that little perk. Cleaning services have always been good during our stays. The elevator areas have a security check at entry. The front desk service we've experienced multiple times has been routinely good, FWIW. A handy little side option at TI is the presence of / attachment to a CVS on the north end ( accessible via the casino floor) for those who might need snacks, drinks, alcohol,  or some various hangover therapy options close by.

Dining : We've never been enthralled with the dining options at TI, though we haven't tried their steakhouse and other alternate venues. The prices at their Coffee Shop are generally within the $30-40 per person range...a bit pricey. They have a food court / food hall area with a Popeye's Chicken option, an Asian quick-bite option, a ubiquitous Starbucks outlet, and a yogurt venue. Love that chicken (along with red beans and rice) at Popeyes, FWIW..partially because it's generally affordable. Overall, there are dining options within a reasonable walk of TI that offer better values.

Players Club/ Gambling : One simple and appealing aspect of their players club is the name ..it's the TI Players Club. No pretentious / ostentacious label display that conjurs up false promises of gambling grandeur. We've gambled at all the mega-palaces on the Strip, and I can state with certainty that the TI players club payback rates ( dollar for dollar spend) outside major promo events is far and away more player friendly at TI vs CET, MGM, and the other alternatives. Their blackjack minimums on the main floor for 3:2 games (double deck and multideck) start at $15/ hand, though to get rated for comps players still must bet $25/ hand minimums. Routinely and recently, they offer $10 early AM minimums on weekday mornings and they'll grandfather those minimums when minimums are hiked  generally around 10 - 11 AM. Their overall rule sets for these games are decent ( all H17 at these minimums). Their high limit room offers S17 games starting at $50/hand ( during low demand times, I've seen them offer $25 for these S17 games ). In sum, BJ players just can't beat TI for 3:2 games at lower minimums on the  Strip. They're moderately serious about game protection , for those whom might be interested. TI has been good about sending us quarterly room with free play offers at a cost far below what we've experienced at the mega-properties.Those offers have applied for both weekend and weekday stays..never a hitch in our experience.

The VP paytables at TI are , in sum, mediocre at best. They have a few 98% + payback games at the $1 level.

Just offering some of the experiences we've had at TI, and a recommendation for its relative offered values ( and a few negatives) among all the other Strip options. They don't sucker punch players to the degree seen at the major conglomerates.

Thank you very much for your detailed report! As you note, Strip value options are hard to find. I for one could not care less if the rooms aren't as "modern" as others--when I'm in Vegas, my room is my crash pad, nothing more. Very good to hear about the decent BJ options, also rare on the Strip. And as you also noted, TI is one of the very, very, very few Strip joints that offers regular room promos. And yeah, reasonably priced and decent food is still a rare and hard-to-find artifact on the Strip. But Ellis Island, Palms, Gold Coast, etc. are relatively close by (walk there in half an hour).

While I'm personally not a Strip-er, I'd say these folks deserve our business. I concur with your recommendation.
