Question about using points

We are staying at Harrahs next week. Our room has been comped and we just got an email to upgrade to a luxury room for $15. I'm wondering since we have never had enough points to use for anything until now, can we use our points to pay for the upgrade?

Anybody know what restaurants you can use points with? Is it better to just charge to the room and pay with points when you check out?

Thanks so much for any help you can give.
Yes, since the $15 will be on your hotel bill, you can use points to pay. Just ask them to at checkout.

I try to use points to pay for meals at the time of the meal rather than charging them to your room. When using points, you don't have to pay tax (at least for now), so the total bill is smaller. If you charge it to your room, the tax will be included and will require points (or cash) to pay for the total bill including tax.

There was a list of restaurants posted in this forum several months ago, you might try searching for it. I had considered printing it, but most of the restaurants take TR points, so I didn't. I haven't personally run into one at the CET props that didn't take them, but there are a few that don't.

Thanks for the information! It was very helpful and I will search for the restaurants.
Basically all the Caesars owned restaurants will accept points for payment. The few that don't, you can charge to your room and pay with points at check out.
