Red Room at Paris

So, Paris has bad video poker??? Do you mean selection of slot machines or that they just don't pay well or both?
Tony cc said it correctly. The VP schedules are bad at Paris and they don't have many VP machines, either. There's only about 2 areas in the casino that have VP, and within those 2 areas, there aren't too many machines to choose from.

Have stayed in most rooms at Paris, upgrading to a Red or Perimeter Room might be just a little nicer than standard. If you're going to "nest" in your room then go for it, if you're only going to rest your head on a pillow and head back down the save the money for the casino, etc.

That's exactly it, IMHO. I have friends who like to keep "regular hours" as much as possible in Vegas. Get a full nights sleep, 3 meals, etc... They like to pay more for a nicer room. I have other friends who are out all night, do everything on the spur of the moment and sleep maybe 3-4 hours. It's silly for them to spend much on a room. Personally I fall somewhere in between.

I'm going to second this. I lost my Vegas VP virginity at Paris in 2006. Back then Paris has full pay BP (at least at the .50 level) and I remember sitting there with $500 in the machine and playing for some 10 hours or so. Now, they've decimated the payback. You can find better VP at both PHO & Bally's. Still not full pay but better than Paris.

As for a Red Room, I think it's all relative. I don't know how much you're paying for a RR vs. a (comped?) standard room. I fall into that classification MickeyDavis spoke of (4-5 hours of sleep per night, need somewhere to crash) so I think the standard rooms are great. Granted, I've not stayed in a Paris standard room in a few years, my wife really prefers Bally's to Paris. Wild, I know!
