Remodled rooms at flamingo

We have Friday and Saturday booked at flamingo for April. Reservations said it was a newly remodled room with a strip view for 37 a night. Has anyone stayed in these rooms? I've heard such bad reports about the flamingo rooms I want to make sure we actually want to stay there. The other option is staying comped at the Orleans.
Are you referring to the FAB Luxury Rooms?

I don't know they sad that the rooms had wood floors and new beds flat screens etc. My husband needs a comfortable bed and likes to stay on the strip. They said there was a strip view.
That sounds like the FAB Luxury Room. I recently started a thread about them. See my other post.

If the bed is a priority for your husband, it will really matter if he likes a hard or soft bed. The Fab room is advertized as having a pillow top mattress, and it is, but it is the hardest pillow top I've ever slept in (and I sleep in a hotel room about 150+ nights per year). My shoulders hurt the next morning. Otherwise the room was fine.

I booked a FAB luxury for my trip this week as I could get it comped, then I rec'd an email from CET offering a GO room upgrade for $20/night. I jumped on it as the GO room beds are nice and soft (real pillow tops!). I can pay with TR points, but even if not, it was totally worth it for me, just for the bed.

Stayed in a Fab room March 8-11, room where fine, baths a little dated, bed was great, will get it again in August
Thanks I will have to discuss it with him. I can sleep on most anything him not so much.
Nothing special about the Fab Rooms. Basically they took out the carpet and put in laminate and got new mattresses, which are VERY firm. The room we stayed in didn't have a remodeled bathroom and the the other furniture was a bit worn. New TV too. The room was clean and spacious though...better than the deluxe.
Recently stayed in a Fab room and I thought the bed was fine. I did not like the fake wood floor and can only describe it as kind of like plastic paneling. It was nothing like Pergo and it was kind of weird to step out of bed onto the floor. We requested a King but we checked in really early and took two queens because it was ready. I solved the floor problem by taking the furry shag throws off the bottom of the bed and using them as throw rugs. I'm sure the maids were amused. I did not see any other use for them tho. Also, we had a strip view but next time I am just going to ask for a pool view because looking through the Donny and Marie wrap is so annoying. It totally distorts your view. All in all the room was fine but nothing special. It was comped but I would not pay extra for it.
I agree, the furry shag things on the bed were a bit odd...we just threw them on the floor. I didn't mind the floor as it appeared clean...much cleaner than the nasty old carpet of the deluxe rooms; however, it is more vinyl looking than laminate.
