Resort fees for platinum and above

Someone in another thread stated there is no resort fee if you are platinum and above can someone either confirm or deny this for me? I will be staying at Caesars for five comped nights and they said I will have to pay the resort fee, but I am a platinum member. Looking for answers.
I just got back and am Platinum. We opted out at Harrahs. This is such a scam. They advertise wi fi included in the resort fee but Harrahs doesn't have it. It is all cable only. Also all of the properties it is for only 1 device.

If you opt out you can't use the gym or the wi fi they will charge you. I assume it is the same for all CET properties. I had a free room at the Quad, they have wi fi in the rooms but no gym. I think the fee was 15 as compared to harrahs 20 but not sure.. I again opted out.

The room at the Quad was way bigger than our upgraded room at Harrahs. I was nicely surprised.
Booked a room at Flamingo online recently after a bump to Platinum. When confirming the reservation it said resort fee waived. I assume this is more "declining" rather than "waiving" but it was *not* included in my room quote as it was the month before while gold.
During my stay this past March at Ceasars (im Platinum) the resort fee was waived but I got none of the resort fee "bennys". Fitness center cost me $15.00 and another $15.00 for the spa. They said I was getting the "reduced rate" because I was platinum.

I think there isn't an answer for sure

We came in on a specific promo offer that included the comped nights, weren't charged a resort fee. We would have had to pay $16 per night for internet if we connected, though.

At another hotel "I agree to pay the resort fee of___per night" was on the contract you sign. An amount was not filled in on the line. I asked about it, the lady said we woudn't be charged, and we weren't.
I stayed at Paris a few weeks ago - comped room, I am platinum -- and was given the option to "decline" the resort fee, but, as others have stated, did not get to use any of the benefits. My platinum friend stayed at Rio and had the same experience, so I think it's pretty solid that plats can "opt out," but you'll have to pay for gym, wi-fi, etc., just like before.
