resort fee's on comped rooms.

I stayed at Horseshoe Southern Indiana, and was comped for the night, or so I thought. When I went to check in they were going to charge me around 12 dollars for resort fee, I explained that the room was comped and didn't have to pay. The young lady working the desk informed me that Harrah's had started charging resort fees for all the rooms whether they were comped or not. I inquired as to if it was just there, or all of CEC properties and she stated that it would be in effect for all of Caesars properties. Has anyone else ran into this problem?

We just got back from Planet Hollywood and there was no resort fee.

If you are gold or platinum level you will be charged a resort fee at all CET properties. There may be a property not charging a resort fee to us lower level players , but I am not aware of it.

Orchid is right. My early visits this year to Vegas as a platinum level player resulted in resort fees. No fees after I became diamond.

Twelve bucks is about half of what is charged in Vegas. Plus, unless you ask, they don't offer up how to access the internet (which is included in the fee).

We were just in Vegas a week and a half ago and stayed at the Rio. We are platinum and had 5 nights comped. We paid the resort fee for all 7 nights unfortunately. I will say that at the Platinum check in desk the clerk was very helpful explaining what was included and how we could access the internet. We even went over to the spa to check it out and see what the gym included. They actually had a nicer set up than what we thought.

It's really sad that the resort fees added up to more than the total price we were to pay for the room.

I was not aware that the resort fees had popped up at Indiana casinos. comped should mean comped, guests should not pay tax or resort fee.

Champster, we had 5 nights comped but you still had to pay the resort fee for those nights as platinum. The other 2 nights were $70 each. Resort fees were $175 and the two nights were only $140. Not nice is it! Resort fees stink!

Laughlin does not charge platinum card holders the resort fee of around $8

Other than that you have to be diamond or 7* as far as I know at other properties.

It really pisses me off that they charge a resort fee on a comped room (I'm 7* so don't pay it but it still pisses me off). If you're paying a resort fee then the room isn't complimentary.

Spent the night at Harrah's Resort SoCal last week and there was not a resort fee. You have to pay for WiFi in your room but it is free in the lobby.
