reward credit points

This might seem like a silly question but, are there certain games that build up your points faster? Like does vp give you more points per dollar than say, penny slots? We just did our first stop for the Great Race and 25 points seemed to take a long time to earn. I was just wondering if there was a quicker (less expensive) way to do it.

Most, if not all, slot machines will earn a point for each $5 of coin-in. And most, if not all, video poker will earn a point for each $10 of coin-in. So video poker would actually be twice as slow as betting the same amount at slots. It's still the recommended way to earn your points.

To earn those 25 points more quickly, you'll either have to play faster or at a higher denomination.
A good way to earn your 25 points is on Video Blackjack, but only if:

1. You know how to play the game (BJ) perfectly

2. You can find a machine with decent rules - allows double on 10 or 11, can split aces, can split any pairs at a minimum. 6 cards automatic win and surrender would be nice too. Most newer machines do not allow doubling - AVOID THESE AT ALL COSTS.

The decent BJ machines are out there, but hard to find.

Video poker, all the way, 9-6 jacks is the easiest game, if you can find one, and you lose money at the slowest rate.

Each $5 coin in in slots equals 1 point.
Each $10 coin in in video poker equals 1 point.

Pick a game that YOU enjoy playing.
Your heading refers to reward credits but then referrals are made to earning your 25 points. I am sure most of you know that the Great Race requires 25 Tier credits not reward credits. It takes more coin-in to earn a Tier credit then a Reward credit. The comments are correct that slots earn credits faster then VP but of course the payback percentage for VP is much higher then that of penny slots. Even the not so great VP such as 7/5 BP or 8/5 JoB returns a much higher percentage with a much lower volatility. VP appears be a better way to earn your 25 Tier credits with less risk of ruin. Also I do agree with MissL7777 about play the game you enjoy unless your goal is in and out with 25 Tier credits.
Another point - I always earn at least 30 points at a stop (for this promotion). Sometimes the machines can be off a point or two and you do not want to be short.

Watch your card reader to make sure it's counting correctly.

I played a Game King VP at a Harrah's many times that use to be a video slot machine. The points counted like slot play instead of VP play.... kept my mouth shut and enjoyed the double points for a good year before the machine was changed out.

I saw several of these in KC recently. It was only a 6/5 payout, but the $5 in for a TR point was nice.
Wish I could find one in Vegas.
My earlier comment about reward vs Tier credits was a mistake. Yesterday we drove up to Hammond and the machines were recording only base credits. I assumed that meant reward credits rather than tier credits. I reviewed the FAQs on the Total Rewards site and found that base credits referred to reward credits as well as tier credits. They are the same with the exception of bonus days which multiply your reward credits but not your tier credits. We were forced to play 8/5 Job at Hammond to earn our 25 tier credits each. Hammond did have 9/6 DDB in dollars but in quarters it was on 8/5. It cost us $80 to earn 25 tier credits each. In regard to the previous comment made by DaveOKC about the Game King read this week's Dancer column. Game Kings with slot and VP selections just might give up points more rapidly.
