Rincon weekly freeplay offers change when? /charging for pool area now

They used to change Wednesday with Thursday being a new offer. I was trying to book a night in August so I could use the expiring offer and the next day use the new offer. I don't live in the area so I need to book an overnight stay to use both offers.

The new pool area with a"lazy river" has opened and here are some of the new costs and restrictions.
Saturdays day and nighttime only those over 21 may use the pool area(no children allowed).
If staying at the hotel you get 2 passes to the pool no matter what room you book, the high end suites still only get you 2 passes per day. You must pay admittance fee for more people including children(kids under 3 yrs are free). The cost Monday through Friday is $10. Saturday & Sunday the cost is $20 per person. You can rent a cabana for the hours of 10am to 6pm, although the pool is open from 8am to 8pm. Reward credits may be used to pay for the fees.

Waiting for a reply as to whether 7 Stars or Diamond get in free.

Anyone try the new restaurant 'Ritas? I hope it's better than what they've done so far with what used to be Cabana Cove. How could they not get a decent BBQ place, the one they put in was doomed from the beginning.

They've also stopped the "Plays & Chews" offer where you could earn 50 tier credits and get a free buffet or $20 dining credit. They think we will like this better.

"Thank you for enjoying Play and Chews this last year. It was such an amazing program, that we put on our thinking caps and brewed up something we think you’ll like even better. Welcome to the next generation of choice. Welcome to UCHOOSE.

UCHOOSE your rewards!
Every Tuesday and Thursday in July
8am - Midnight

The choice is yours! Swipe at any promotional kiosk for your chance to win! When you win, you choose your reward. Distribute your reward among Reward Credits, Dining or free play OR redeem it all on the same option!"

Let's see, I could get a guaranteed buffet or dining credit any day of the week for 50 tier points or I can skip work so I can be there on a Tuesday or Thursday and maybe win something from a kiosk swipe. Not an improvement for me.

I posted in another thread that they are now charging $4 for electronic check cashing at the cashiers cage, it used to be free. Don't they realize there are other, more accommodating casinos nearby.
We tried the new Mexican place last month and it was awful. I seriously couldn't eat my entree, which took FOREVER to get because the waiter brought me the wrong thing the first time even though I POINTED to what I wanted on the menu! They had an extremely loud band playing that made the experience all the more horrible. I will not go back again.
Justmare welcome back.

I haven't had the same experience at 'Ritas that you've had. Only been twice and the food was ok-Acapulco/El Torito level. I'm more a chips and salsa with a margarita fan, not really keen on the food anywhere. We have gone to the DL for our Margaritas first then had iced tea at 'Ritas. I spoke with Jeff the chef last time and I managed to insult him over the previous BBQ place. Apparently he was in charge of the BBQ menu and was quite proud of it, even mentioned he'd won an award for best BBQ chef. The BBQ place was not acceptable for me, gave it 2 tries and never went back. It's a shame that they can't put in a good restaurant in this space. One of the bus boys pointed out that he wasn't sure what the theme was as they all have to wear tropical style shirts in 'Ritas.

Thanks!

I'm glad you had a better experience than we had. OMG, that BBQ place was SO bad. I can't believe anyone could have been proud of anything to do with that place. Maybe he's the problem with everything they try in that space?
I'm just speculating here, but I believe Rincon is trying a strategy of providing lousy food offerings so we consumers won't want to interrupt our gambling to eat. Makes sense really.
EllenMonster, that's a theory they might be trying, but there are quite a few of us who just go the Valley View casino, Pala casino, or within 30 minutes are the cities of Temecula and Escondido. Oh I left out the Shell station with the mini-mart at Rincon now.
I played twice in July -- first trip 2768 tier points (won $200), second trip 4824 tier points (lost $2800). They sent me an offer after a long absence of 3 free nights (only stayed 1), $100 dining credit, $270 Free Play, and $150 spa (didn't use).

So, after that play I got my first new mailed offer from them:

2 free night hotel stay during the 1st half of the month, and again the 2nd half of the month
$75 free play EARNED from July play
$120 free play during 9 periods of the month
$60 food credit 4 times during the month
$60 spa discount

Seems kinda crappy for $48k coin in, doesn't it?
Mare, at those benefits you're not going to get comped in the new tower either. I'm trying to figure out how much money they take in on the Saturday "Dive Club" that they now seem to be exploting. I believe the majority of those attending are only at Rincon for the day. Most stay out at the pool and don't come in to gamble. Rincon must be after the alcohol revenue. I wonder if they will go back to allowing children into all pool areas after the summer is over and they lose the young adult Saturday crowd. It'll be a "we listened to you and have changed our pool rules so you're children aren't restricted to the Lazy River area only." A lot of unhappy families(Rincon facebook page) who used to come for a night or two and relax at the pool, eat meals, and parents gamble say they are going elsewhere do to the pool restrictions for their kids and the drunken state of the young adults.

It's like they care less and less for loyal customers.
I was wondering how they thought they could get away with that "no kids" thing. Guess they really aren't.

I'm just so disappointed that I wasted my time getting diamond back. I don't know what possessed me.
