Rio Location Recommendations

Staying at Rio next month for the 1st time. Got a $21/night rate, so don't expect much in terms of room location--just wondered if there were any areas folks might suggest to either request or avoid.

Many times, the type of room you get depends on your
TR players level.

GOLD will get ya a mountain view room...
PLATINUM and higher should land you a Strip/Pool view.
I perfer IPANIMA TOWER, Upper floor, Strip/Pool view.

Personally, I like the Masquerade tower, strip/pool view, higher floor for the view and easy access to the parking garage. Be carefull to not go to high! Once had a room directly beneath the voodoo lounge and it was rather loud.

Masq. tower is easy access to Self pkg. Thats the best thing going for it. It has had plumbing
issues when I've stayed there.

Ipanema tower is alittle nicer. What Greg & Lisa said.

I'm a gold player, went in August, and stayed in an Ipanema tower, high floor room with a strip view as a comp. It was very nice. Probably better than my normal rooms a PH.

Thanks all! W/such a cheap rate and little Total Rewards action I don't have high expectations, but this helps in knowing what to at least request. Ipenema, then Masquarade--got it.

I had a fifth floor room, mountain view, Ipanema tower last April. Room smelled like BBQ 24/7 from restaurant underneath. I assume the higher the floor, the less BBQ. Good luck.

You can always try the $20 trick. I did that the last time I stayed at the rio. WE got upgraded to a strip/pool view at the end of the hallway. We had 2 sides of nothing but windows and a great view of most of the stip.
