Room Rates are SO High! Wait or Book Now?

Going to be in Las Vegas Nov 1-3. Every place I check for room rates is very high. None of the dates are
allowed on any of my measly comps, either. I don't know if I should book now & be happy I got a room or
wait & see if the rates go down. I see there is some big convention that week.
Any suggestions?
Not sure where you are looking to stay but it is $70 per night at South Point.
SEMA Show and AAPEX is there that week. We are going and staying at Mandalay Bay but I booked it back in February
I think it is generally best to go ahead and book now and lock in the rate. If rates go down you can always rebook.

These were the only dates I could get off work, so can't change that. Yeah, might as well just book.
The SEMA and AAPEX must have big big attendance.
The Plaza is 71 bucks.

I think the estimated attendance at AAPEX is 125,000. Why else would the Imperial Palace be over $100 mid-week??

I saw some cheap rates at the El Cortez during that time, if you don't mind being downtown. I've stayed there three times, in the tower, and have been perfectly satisfied there.
Like vegasnow said, book now and keep checking back. I'm sure all the rooms they plan on selling for the convention will not be taken and you can sniff out a good deal much closer to the date.

The way the economy is going right now, I would doubt that attendance will meet convention projections.
Southpoint has those nights now for $59 $59 and $49....no resort fees. Must book online. Great hotel, just away from the Strip.

You all are great. I booked the Golden Nugget, will wait & see if something better comes up.
Thought I scored big when I found out that I could get the Vintage Suite at El Cortez those dates for a really good price.....then found out
they are non-smoking rooms.
I don't mind being off the strip, but too far away from everything would be bad. I don't get to town often enough so I want to do & see it all every time I go.......of course, that never happens either. For me, city driving is out - I get too spooked. Not used to that much traffic EVER.
I always thought that South Point was much further out than it is. The rooms look really nice! Checking it all out now - thank you again.
